Installing the new crash barriers alongside amazing nature and mountains.
Albanian Alps should be under government protection and preservation.

When will it be ready? I want to plan a Balkan trip with some friends this summer and we want to travel into Kosova from perhaps Bosnia-Serbia and then into Albania, travel either through Macedonia or go into Greece, Bulgaria, and then end the trip in Turkey.
I imagine it still wont be done by August

It will be done by June this year according to the company. The company said there will be no delays. But if there is any, i imagine latest will be August this summer. Next project linking Croatia with Albania via Adriatic-Ionian motorway.

Looks good. Motorways are an important and indispensable step into a well developed infrastructure.

The bill is going to come to around 1 Billion USD. It is suppose to shorten time in half between Kosovo and Albania in just 3 hours.

What will be the driving time between Tirana and Prishtina? Also if anyone knows, what's Athens - Tirana? Well, in Greece they are buiding the new " ionian odos " which will most likely connect with the new motorway being built in this thread. But for now its around 8 - 10 hours i believe...with the new road it might be 6 hours..who knows. But still its good for the balkans, we need the infrastrucure !! ;D

^ Thanks, we really need it though, of course flying between these cities is easier but driving is better IMO, you enjoy the nature, and get to see different cities/towns on the way there.

The Ionian odos is good because I will be able to switch from Kastoria to my mothers village within a few hours then...on a wonderful street...but the motorway from Grevena to Ioannina is also very important since this will spare me the terrible streets over Konitsa or the still more terrible streets of Katara....which definitely deserves this name (katara=oath). ;D
