Kastoriane, honestly besides some vlah (which you must be lucky to hear) i never crossed any other language but Greek in my first 18 years i spent in Epiros. Not even in Paramythia/Hgoumenitsa/Parga....
So why all the noize about Arvanitika in Epirus? Never saw any...
Its spoken all over the nomos Thesprotias (not in every single village but in many) and the dimos Fanariou of Preveza where my mother is from which is also called Parasouli. Its a Souliot heritage in my opinion.
Although most of the people do not consider themselves Arvanites...they regard it as a heritage of the ottoman/cham rule. But its definitely spoken because the old grannies prefer that language still today in some regions. Tsivete je mir?
