I wonder why Albanian state doesn't recognize Himara region as a minority zone...when its citizens declare openly their Greek heritage.

I wonder why Albanian state doesn't recognize Himara region as a minority zone...when its citizens declare openly their Greek heritage. Arxilea, ti ora kai mera tin exei auti tin ekpompi to ET3? because not all of Himaras citizens are Greek. for all u fags whove never been to Himara its a town that has several villages and has some ethnic Greeks in them but also has Albanians it would be unfair to call the whole zone a Greek minority village... and besides, Bollano does NOT represent all of Himara, he has actually forcefully changed the names of some of Himaras citizens from Albanian to Greek, they themselves have admitte this... and besides, i have some veins from Himara, as we say in Korca, and I consider myself Albanian so do my grandparents because they lived in Albania all their lives they dont care about Greeces nationalistic pursuits and are not desperate for ur pathetic monthly paiments either as i sent them enough money to last them this lifetime and the next ;D and ur not giving famous ALBANIAN Himariots enough credit such as Petro Marko, Paskal Milo, Aleks Caci etc. any more questions about the Albanian state? as long as there exists a hostility of Albanians towards Greeks there will exist an Albanian Himara and an ALBANIAN south in general...some of us Albanians are still alive, lucky enough to be educated in America, and no matter how much Albanians call us kaur its still better to be an Albanian from the south then a "northern Epirote" in Greece

I suppose you know the name Spiromilios, almost synonym with the Himariotic history. Read what he writes: In his monograph "Alvanoi kai Alvanistai" We and the othersA’. We “We,born in Northern Epirus, neighboring with Liaps and Tosks, Christian Orthodox Greeks speaking the Greek language and knowing the Albanian one, having one and only consciousness by the Fall of Polis, the Greek one, and fought the conquers because of our consciousness. Living with Albanians as brothers until the Fall and with the most of them until the age of Ali pasha, when these Liapides and Tosks changed their religion and became muslims.” cds.lib.auth.gr/submit/archive/ARC/arc-2007-26137.pdfFrom the villages that are peopled by Himariotes (Himara, Palasa,Dhrymadhes, Vouno, Iliashi, Kiparo, Kato Kiparo, Koudhes, Piliouri ), the three first villages-towns are hellenophones and the other smaller villages alvanophones. The majority of the Himariotes are Greekspeaking. If you understood some Himariotika Greek you would understand the Himarioti guy speaking in the videos quoted above about some "alvanohoria"-albanian villages and of course Himara isn't one of these...

Doesnt matter how they feel, there is no pressure to expand the original minority zone outside of powerless Epirotic society groups. Therefore it will not change.
The reason why they dont change it is because the nature of the region is changing. Labs and Chams are moving into Himara to make up for the lack of youth in the area. Not only they but northern Albanians as well. And an Albanianization is under way that will be completed within the next two generation
PS: What happened to Vasili's request?

Of course not,I've listed the rest villages above... good job for listing those villages but most of them are Albanian like Qeparo. The only way you can make South Albania fit into your Megali Idea is by war and ethnic cleansing in which there is consequences if you loose.

de.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ_Rdw1AKmMChimara "The source of Greek nation". A region that is washed by the waves of the lonion Sea, covered with the grey leaves of the olive trees, a habitation of heroes. The villages of Chimara, Kiparo, Vouno, Drimades, Nivitsa, AgiosVasilios, Loukovo, Pikerni, Palassa, Piliouri were able to retain their greekcon-science and orthodox faith upright, in difficult and leap years. The Albanians have exempted it from "the minority zones" refusing to accept Its Greek identity. Chimara constituted the cradle of armatolism (the activity of Greek guerrillas entrusted with police duties) during the years of theTurkish domination. The sublime Porte failed in imposing its rules on the people of Chimara. Refusing to be subjected to the conquerors, the Greek people of Chimara redeemed "their privileges" with their blood. The people of Chimara and Souli are identified with the concept of self-sacrifice. They have never bowed to any conqueror. They earned special privileges with struggles and they contracted the"AUTONOMOUS CONFEDERACY OF KERAYNIONS". A history full of fights and sacrifices for their freedom. The Turks applied violent and hardmeasures in order to make them change their religion and turn into Muslims but were not able to alter the Greek composition of the region. The heroic Himara remains unsubdued, a symbol of the indomitable spirit of Epirus. The heroism of the people of Himara constituted the seed of all therevolutionary movements of Epirus. The town of Chimara, on the coastsof the Ionio Sea, between Aviona and Agii Saranta, below Akrokeravnia, presents a wild grandeur. It is the Ancient Greek town of Chimara of Chaonia. During the Byzantine times, Chimara was a border station, a fortress of defense against those who invaded from the sea. It did not submit itself to the Turks. With captain Spyromilios as its leader, it raised its stature and fought for the maintenanceof its freedom. The movement of Himara touched and shocked the whole Greek nation. Souris greets it with the following verses:"Stop, don't cover the sun of freedom.thunder with Himara by your side, you poor Spyromilios"Everything - culture, feelings, language, origin - is representative of the fact that the people of Chimara "besides the faith and the language, these two fluid elements, both of which were, occasionally, lost in turns under tempestuous and adverse adventures of the Greek, persist in tradition, obviously proving the solid continuation of the Greek heritage". Himara! Inexhaustible historic source of beauty and vigor.Sti Himara vjeni o ilios, arhigos o SpiromiliosArhigos ihe dhjiataksi, tin Turqia na ipotaksi

Greece will NOT make Himara your battleground not as long as I'm alive. your countrys imperialisim against Albanians ended with Chams. i'm a logical Albanian as I dont support border changes but you keep egging on about southern Albania you'll get the Tibet of the balkans in Greece. if u think Kosovo was a huge win for Albanians u havent seen anything yet, if Greece keeps this up, that is... unlike Serbia, Albanians are all over your country. Aristidh Kola would agree with me, God bless his Arvanite soul

There is no need Himara to become Tibet, there is no need Himara to become an indepedent Greek State, there is no need Himara to become Greek terittory and there is no need for any kind of war. Just respect the Greek culture/existence of the people there and everything is fine and everybody will be happy. Nothing wrong with this...

Adolfkaderi "you know this is not about their rights Vasilo, you know this is just Greece trying to have power over Albania" -------------------------------------------------------- Hitler felt that Jews rights made them having power over Germans. He killed 6 million of them. Ottomans felt that Armenian rights made them having power in Turkey. They killed 1,5 million of them. Now you're telling us that Greek want power over Albania. Whats your thinking? Do you want to execute them all.. so Albania will not be under the power from Greece or to treat them nice and civilized so as to be the best friends with Greece? Do you want a bridge of friendship or problems with a neighbor? Thats the question.
Have in mind that the word "minority" its not a bad word. "Minority" can be an advantage for a country. If the country that has the minority behaves civilized and with friendly feeling to the country that hosts the minority.. and that is how things work in EU....... then the word "minority" can be an advantage between these 2 countries... who are members of EU.
We dont live in 19th century where minorities was a reason for war. Now they work in a different way. Of course it works in a different way... inside EU world.
