The reality is we humans are born unwillingly, we live- if lucky- willingly and die mostly unwillingly. We don't know where we came from and where we are going. Science is not answering us those questions, because science explains us only things we can percieve.
Thus an intelligent person is faced with two possibilities:
1. There is God who created all of this for a purpose; and,
2. There is no God and everything is chance, luck or chaos and has no meaning once we die.
From those two options everybody got to choose one. Both at once is not logical, it is more like confusion.
Oh, there is another group who wouldn't get sutisfied with only one God but rather believe in many Gods. But they are still a fraction in the favour of the first group, but more kind of confused ones.
And as long as there will be humans on Earth there always going to be those two fractions of people.
Well, may be this choosing process is the most important conscious mission we all human individuals are entitled to accomplish. For many other choices we don't have much power to decide. But this one is totally individual. It has to be me individually to decide on that one. I mean it is an area of total freedom of thought and consciuos choice.
Well, who knows may this is all what this mortal life is about. About making one crucial choice and sticking to it till we die. The good thing about this choice making is that every single of us will get his/her answer when he/she dies. So no worries, all of us will be answered accordingly.
Then what if I was on the wrong side? Is that going to have any implications on me thenafter?
If the first group is right and I was an atheist all my life I loose the bet and no option but going to Hell. Ouch, that would hurt.
Oh if the second group turns out to be right, we are all screwed. Me and you all of us loose... This is it we are done. No more hurting. Came from nothing went to nothing. Meaningless life.
Now you decide which one would give you better protection??? Which one fits you better. After all it is one of the most intimate choices we can make as individuals. This one has to be your choice. Because believing first of all got to be a personal experiance.
Behold, both of those options are nothing but two beliefs - equal in terms of physical evidence. One of them is not science and the other religion. Both of them are beliefs about what will happen after we cease to live...
