I put it in Alphabetical order.
This, I think, is the most realistic list that includes the most viable candidates and the best ones without the need to expand the list. I for one, feel nothing towards Slovenes and I cant really consider it a nation that anyone would feel closest to; while we all know the situation with the Serbs. I dont see amicability being created among these people in this lifetime. However, I put as many spaces as I thought proper to use since I do believe in democratic rights for the more educated. Vlachs and Romanians are differentiated since Albanians have historical -- medieval -- links towards the Vlachs but I cant say so with those who come from Romania itself.
In order to help keep this among Albanians, I would like every Albanian poster to make a post showing that he voted. I don't care if you tell us who you voted for, but I would like to know if you voted.
In order to make this more definitive and long-running, I would ask that it be posted among the 'Collection of Local Sticky Topics' page that Admin created.

I would say its a fight between Greeks, Vlachs and Montenegrin Slavs. They have all have influenced Albanians in their own way

Its not about who influenced who, its about who do you feel the closest to? Albanians have also had Serb influence, yet I doubt many would say that they feel 'close' to them.
Who can you have a 'muhabet' with and feel free and relaxed enough to express yourself freely. Who can you most relate to?
Its hard to ask this to Americanized Balkanians since they tend to feel more attached to any Balkanian and Americanization has the habit of destroying the negative feelings while creating new bonds through the assimilation into a new culture.

Toskali. I thought you meant who are Albanians closer to. Obviously we would feel closer to those who have influenced us.
As for myself i dont feel close to anything specific on the list. I would say all Balkan people are the same on my list.
If i had to have a drink with a bad Croat or with a good Greek. Does nationality really matter in that case? I would prefer to have a drink with anybody that can carry on a decent conversation and that is polite towards me and my culture.
Naturally i feel inclined to be closer to Balkan people no matter of their nationality but i look at their individual personality.

Well... this topic will require generalization.

Generalization? Ok I voted Turks just for the sake of it because i think many of them are polite.
If you had an option, All Balkan people, i wouldve chosen that instead.
Ive also meat few friendly Serbs, Italians, and other Eastern Europeans.

I consider that a cop-out.
I voted also.
Like I said, I dont care if you tell us what you voted for and I dont hold anything against anyone for voting what they would vote for but I know that some people have nasty habits of starting arguments.
1. Most Albs, around 90%+, see Serbs as enemies and a hated figure. I decided on 'viable' candidates. 2. Serbs would probably receive the least amount of votes votes, if not none. 3. If I put it, it would likely result in a wave of votes designed simply to play around; therefore I want to skip that.

It's not fair to put Vlachs there because Vlachs can be those from Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, or whatever. I also question Melty's choice to put them apart from Romanians. Many Vlachs from Macedonia, Serbia, and Bulgaria view themselves as Romanians or akin to Romanians. If you talk about Vlachs from Albania, then I say it's not fair to add them there. I don't think we can compete with a people whom Albanians count as somewhat Albanian, somewhat something else.
Who voted for Romanians?

If wee look back in the history we had problems with all country's around ass. So i picked Montenegro when it comes to traditions and the way of life i think we have lots of think in comen. I personally have met lots of ppl from Grace, Serbia,Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Montenegro, but the Montenegro's i found more cool we never talk about politics, and they seem to stick to their problems and i stick to mined so thats why i feel more closer to them.

Done.

From personal experience I have to agree with Albanoi as on a personal level Montenegrins and Albanians seem to always click very well and void of politics.

Albanian-Vlach communities were attested as far up modern Serbia; while you can still find "Arvanitovlach" communities in Greece. Many Albanian tribes that migrated around these regions were mixed with Vlachs. I personally consider Vlachs a sort of cousin people. Plus, generally, Vlachs consider themselves as distinct from Romanians and have been assimilated into the countries they found themselves in.

Montenegrins and Albanians are blood brothers, language and religion may seperate us, but our tribal culture connects us

When you speak of Montenegrins and albanians...it would be fair to specify the region of albanians which is malisors whom Montenegrins and albanians are alike.

You forgot the closest group, the southern Italians, in terms of cultural links in traditions. Also, the Americans.

haha the southern italians?? are you kidding, we Montenegrins have just as much in common with them as you guys do
By the way, Montenegrins have more in common with non-malsor albanians than you think
We respect Zakletva(Besa), and practice Krvna Osveta(Vendetta), not only that for some time many Montenegrins followed the laws of the Kanun
