Prespari from the freedom point of view it was a hell. let me list you some stupid facts from communist life in the freedom aspect: hairs prohibited longer that the bottom of the head on the back on the side no longer then the earlobe. the ear could not be covered by hear. no beard allowed at the airport was a barber and no foreigner with beard was allowed. no T-shirt or blouse with foreign lettering. no jeans pants couldn't be boot cut or skinny, just straight cut TV sets were sold with a modification from the state so they could receive only Albanian TV listening to foreign music in radio or music players of the time(magneto-phone, cassette-phone was dangerous) no magazine newspapers from abroad were allowed passing the borders religious institutions destroyed (of any religion) ones not destroyed were modified into commercial, sport, industrial, deposits venues. few left intact were closed and the only purpose was museal value. Clerics of all religions killed, by hanging, fire squad, or beaten to death in the interrogation chambers. all elite educated outside Albania before communist regime was eliminated by killing, life long prison, or labor camps. all property, factories, land, mineral, forestall, hydro, resources declared property of the state. Private property eliminated TOTALLY. the only property beside that of the state was the so called personal property (not to be confused with private property). No one could own a car (bicycle or motorcycle were allowed ) Every writen material was under communist censure. No free speech. All religious holidays of all religions were illegal. Every administrative structure stepping from district down to the 2-3 apartment building called block had a party organization. communists belonging to the respective structure had a weekly meeting. the head of every structure was the secretary of the organization. He/she was the king of whatever unit the structure covered, being the city, the neighborhood, 2-3 apartment buildings, a school, a university, a village whatever it was. The secreter of the organization was the ultimate power in the given level of structure. Usually they were commie fanatics and responsible for maintaining the line of the party in the capilar structure of the population. In school was the communist organization for the teachers and a parallel for the students. Berisha was the secretary of the party for the communist organization in University. Majko was secretary of youth (understand comunist youth) at my high school "Ismail Qemali" He was a year younger then me. What else, the one couldn't say open or criticize in the open the party, the line the politics, the economic situation or any communist principle or figure. Punishment was prison and maybe the family send to labor camp. Every Monday in every school in every class in the republic was the so called Political information. Communist indoctrination for 45 minutes. Was no weekend. Saturday was day of work and school. Unpaid work was a common thing. high schools for a month at the end of the 3-4th year in the help of the agriculture were dispatched in the villages. Universities in different infrastructure projects, building roads or whatever. music was 95 % only Albanian and no rhythm, or any thing even remotely, close to jazz, rock, pop, or whatever from outside was allowed. (check festivali i 11 ne you tube) people were jailed and their carriers destroyed fro the song you can see in you tube. Festival i 11 was one time off and many people went to prison for realizing it. See it and you would be amazed that music was considered decadent.
Oh man i can go on and on and on and on but thats it for now maybe tomorrow i tell you more hope you got some insight

It is amazing how some people develop a strange symptom. Once I've read somewhere about this syndrome developed to some people that used to be imprisoned. Some of them strangely after freed crave for the days in the cell. Freedom confuses them, their senses, their orientation the unlimited possibilities in front of them create an overwhelming feeling that they can't manage to dominate. So slowly they feel and need the simplicity of the cell. they dream of the old good safe days. Hey it was rules there, no surprises. Food was timely, sleep was timely, faces repetitive, no worries how to change things because the one couldn't change anything. No money involved, no preparing or creating anything in any form or shape. NO RESPONSIBILITIES after all Even peeing and taking a crap was very timely.
Strange enough, but life has examples of people that after trying that kind of life they long for it. They start to not feel comfortable when face freedom and out of prison. The moderate ones of this kind of people feel nostalgic for the safety, no-surprise days, when nothing was expected from them to create, just to be and accept whatever was imposed.
It looks like almost a case of crypto-sado-masochism.

Bordura i thought that no one would reply thanks, i really apprieciate it. Your comments regarding education really interested me. Hence the questions(if you want to answer ok). One, which geographical region of albania was this situation based -transpiring in ? Two, what time period are we talking about here ? Three, what type of critique(village people, the urbanised etc), if at all was aimed at the government at that time(the issues of concern -stating which time period would be imensly helpful) ?
Also have you heard of a thing called 'zbor(not the slavic word - but somehting to do with albanian army training)' ?
Thanks, and i got more question regarding the other aspects you have mentioned.
As for Mysia, unless you have lived under the regime, state your expiriences if you wish but do not critise others. Everyone has a different life expirieces to your own, even if it is under the same social conditions. I asked for 'personal expiriences' not text book propaganda or ofensive language! Kupton Mysia !
Please if anyone esle feels confortable to talk about such expiriences please do!
