expat, let me ask you this, if you guys had not shipped off the millions of greek muslims, and if you had not mass re-converted to christianity and if you hadn't murdered the rest, how many muslim greeks there would be today? Those million ( i dont know the number ) are now in asia minor and are known as turks. Or cappodocia, i really dont know what part they went to. Thus when you say the turks look like us thats because there is a very good chance he was an ethnic greek at one point. Again though...there is no love loss for them and no one really cares about their plight. They made their choice back then and continue to live their lives as turks. So...i suggest the same advise for you guys to follow. The ones that came here and identify themselves with hellenes leave them be. Dont try to resurect the dead......

....but they are greeks! you can't make someone have a different nationality purely based on religion, i really struggle with this notion, i may not have ever been to kosova, i may not share the same religion but i'd probably lay my life on the line for a common albanian cause, would you ostracise your own brother or kin if they chose to follow islam?

of course not...im just stating what happened during the population exchange between greece & turkey. Keep in mind it was turkey's idea to make the exchange on the ground of religion and not ethnicity. For whatever reason right or wrong...we accepted it. And since then it has been engrained in our national ethnos....as well as turkeys.
Its kind of hard to make a u-turn on that now....it is what it is... and thats how we are today...
what about that greek yusuf stevens or somthing...you think he considers himself a hellene ? I think he even adopted an arab name...so go figure...

also, greek janissaries that were kidnapped and trained were europes worst enemies...you try telling them that they are our long lost brothers...they would probably kill you right on the spot.
So, I guess religion CAN make you something else...espescially if that religion is islam
