Read and this very interesting article. www.elsie.de/pdf/articles/A1998DendronEngl.pdfI suppose Albos know this guy... www.elsie.de/en/pub_articles1995.htmlThe albanian dendronymics have a huge amount of lownwords. From the text: " Of the 152 full entries (15 of the above-mentioned number of 167 being basically crossreferences), we find: 67 (= 44%) entries which are clearly or seem to be derived from loanwords, 65 (= 43%) which are not or do not seem to be derived from loanwords, and 20 (= 13%) which remain unspecified. As to the 67 loanword entries, these consist of 24 Latin loans, 15 Slavic loans, 15 Turkish loans, 6 Ancient Greek loans, 5 Modern Greek loans, 1 Italian loan and 1 non-specific western European loan."

Moraitis first he based on words "which found early books" (it is joke because you know Albanian language writet late from all them, in 1555 from Gjon Buzuku), second say "Supposedly" (this mean imagination). from "slavic loans that claim" (none of those are in Russian/Polish/Ukrainan language but serbian/croarian/fyromian/bulgarian) this mean that they adobtet from Albanian language You must read this (Albanian language that influenced all Balcan's language) from Austrian Science Fund www.fwf.ac.at/en/public_relations/press/pv200805-en.html

I don't think that you can question the big slavic influence in albanian vocabulary.

We can, its not all that high, at least as much as it should be considering how near they are. That language represents at best 6-7% of the language.

I don't think that you can question the big slavic influence in albanian vocabulary. is not more big influence than on greek vocabulary. Linguistly Science say Albanian influence on Serbian/Bulgarian/Greek vocabulary...just see again those words are only among serbian/bulgarian not Russian/Polish language. and Slavic language is just little daughter of Albanian language and Persian/caucasus and baltid language heavly influenced them. We can, its not all that high, at least as much as it should be considering how near they are. That language represents at best 6-7% of the language. that influence is not even 1% ...acroding Ecrem Cabej and some others albonologs I dont know Melty where you heard this...yes Latin influence is huge 13-15% (hoverer alot of some latin words can explain in alb language but scholars claim being latin because they conquested us)

Come one...if a well educated Italian, a Greek, a Yougoslav and a Turk decide to understand together an albanian text it would be possible.

Lets see the first couple of pages of the about 20 pages that Khristoforidhi wrote about the slavic loanwords in albanian.
It is written originally in greek letters,so i'll write them as i get it.
akole apet atsare vadis valanitsa vedre valjie varkgu verdale vertse versnik veshgoj-vegoj veshgim veshniku vikas vitse voze voivoda vranoj baljosh bashke beda-ja belibitse bersi bibe bashtine bigorr bieshke
it has about twenty more pages with slav-derived words.

^ wtf ...I only see 2 words that I know
Come one...if a well educated Italian, a Greek, a Yougoslav and a Turk decide to understand together an albanian text it would be possible.
completely wrong !
unless they are
Arbresh Italians Arvanitis from greece A Yugo traitor..spy Arnaut in turkey
so more or less think of albanian words being exported out and mingling with others ...
me from ex-yugo ....the only word I can think of that is slavic that we use is for "sparkplug"

First of all Khristoforidhi died before 100 years!
lol some words are 100% albanian and some never heard
1) Apet-----(we have own word...Prap, Serish) that used only Kosova Albanians but not Albanians from Albania
2) vojvoda-----? nosense Albanians never use that
100% albanian words:
3) Vezhgoj (Vë is tipycall albanian roots that mean use, in slavic dont mean nothing)---it is nonsence because 100% is albanian
Veshtroj, Veproj, Vendos ect
4)Vezhgim...100% albanian roots Ve and Agim (sunrise)..
5) Bashke is Slavic? this is most stupid ever...every linguist know that is albanian and roots are 100% albanian....Ba (do), Ke (have)...every linguist scholar used this word Bashke that explained albanian language is very old...even this word have found in Ancient Macedonian language Basko.

First of all Khristoforidhi died before 100 years! So much does albanian language changes in a century or they were idiots back in 1900's? I don't know albanian but isn't Khristoforidhi one of the greatest Albanian linguists???

And you can check out some of the Greek loanwords in southern Albanian dialects as recorded in Markos Botsaris' Romaika-Arvanitika lexicon. Marko Bocari he was not linguist, how can know that were loanwords?, second...he talked about Arvanitika dialect (not Toske-South Albania)...that heavly influenced from greek language because they were way far from South Albania...like Arberesh dialect (in South Italy) there heavly been influenced from latins because lived among italians.
