I love how they preach of a multiethnic Bosnia and all that hoopla, yet are still living in 1995 and mentally still seem to be at war. I feel sorry for any Serb who buys into their lies.
NAPOMENA: Mi smo Vas izabrali, mi Vas mozemo smijeniti.
S poštovanjem, Administratori Facebook grupe – Bojkot koncerta Lepe Brene u Zetri

Question for Bosniaks What motivates Bosniak people such as Fahreta to turn into Serb? Do they have mixed ancestry? Were they raised in minority zones? Was it pressure to conform to the dominant culture? Meeting a nice Serb guy? lol That's how it always works. I think the best way to say it is, some people "live" based on gossip, news, and perception and others live it by actually meeting people, living life, and judging people by their personal charcteristics. How would it be normal if I fell in love with some Serb...and we were together..to blame things on his ethnicity, and says its all their fault, etc Just loving them would naturally make me not believe that..no matter what happened. That is why this brena blame makes no sense.

That did not answer my question. I'm asking why do Bosniaks convert into Serbs? Namely people like Lepa Brena and Emir Kosturica.
Do they have family from mixed religious backgrounds? Were they raised in territory which was predominately Serb? Was it pressure? Just merely being in love with an ethnicity does not mean you have to change who you are. I love a lot of things in life, but i still remain an Albanian. And quite proud of it.
I'm trying to understand why many Bosniaks turn into Serbs. If you said it was monetary gain that would make some sense to me. So..

^ I think in Brena and Kusturica's case it has more to do with the fact both were Yugoslavs before the war. Neither is from a mixed marriage (Kusturica is from Sarajevo which was majority Muslim, Brena lived in Tuzla which is majority Muslim until her early 20s I believe). Many, I would say most, people who considered themselves Yugoslavs became more sympathetic to Serbia and Serbs as a result of what happened in the early 90's. That's not a set-in-stone rule of course, but it does make sense considering how everything developed.

pjesme tipa "seki seki" svrstavam u turbo folku. Ako pripada nekom drugom zanru slobodno me uputi. Seki Seki definitivno nije turbo folk. Turbo folk tada nije ni postojao. On se pojavio pectkom devedesetih miksovanjem tehno i folk ritma. Tu pesmu bih svrstao kao tematsku (arapsku) pop folk. Pravi turbofolk moze biti npr. Lepa Brena (i Slatki Greh) definitivno nije Turbo folk neka mesavina popa i folka.

Nemas pojma a nagadjas.

To ti sve kaze. Mislim, hej, ko normalan to moze vjerovati?

For us who are about mid 20's, we never liked sevdah or the really old traditional music. We were into what's called modern narodna..that is what Halid Beslic sang. Up until the last two albums, I'd still call it that. But the progression of an artists career to slightly change their genre is not shocking..Dino Merlin did the same. He started out more soft rock...then went to pop..pop/ethno. Hari Mata Hari for example has stayed true to his work but I'm sure most people are tired of him and the same type of sound by now. Further, Halid Beslic was not popular based on what type of music he sang..he was popular because he was just very good..and he connected to people in a certain way. There were many other singers like him but they never got the popularity. He had the right songs, the popularity, the unique voice, itd In terms of what's "hot" now..there is a lot of change..but you are very wrong in saying BIH was a strong place for music because we had good narodna singers. BIH created the best singers in absolutley every genre that was out there. And I have no doubt we will do it again. Basically, anyone can create anything..but will make it popular. You haven't experinced turbo-folk until we take it a hold and show you what "turbo" really means. lol

Turbo folk is basically a Halid Beslic song with techno beat.

Turbo folk is basically a Halid Beslic song with techno beat. I agree. You made me realize why I don't like turbo-folk. They are basically trying to add cool and high beat to replace having to have a good voice and good emotion in voice (like Halid) Halid with his voice creates the emotion..you don't need some strong beat helping him.

I don't think many of us would see ourself losing our identity marrying any less that saw themselve the same..whether they be Serb or Croat.

Interesting comment above manijak....hmmm just meet another Saralija who seems like a ponosan Bosnian..well I mean he has the 2 zastavas hangining in his place...who was married to a Makedonka...they meet in Switz...so there are exceptions to that! He said to me in a pretty serious manner "ja nisam bosanac ja sam saralija" lol. I will ask him what he thinks about this!

Every country has its own unique music. I dont mind collaborations. A good Greek artist that i like is Lefteris Pantazis. He has pretty good songs. .
