^ The Brazilian ambassador in an interview for RTS program several years ago said their were 500,000+.
I wouldn't doubt it. Chetniks migrated to Brazil and some to Argentina, Ustashas went to Chile and Argentina.

Have they been completely assimilated into the Brazilian culture?

Have they been completely assimilated into the Brazilian culture? They're as much Brazilian as zgembo is Canadian. Hence why several people wanted for war crimes in Bosnia used Brazilian serbs to get funds to hide. Canada's Macleans magazine did a story on it.

I speak with a lot of Brazilians, I have to say I met quite some few ex yugos from Brazil and they were all either Croats or Serbs. They usually don't speak the language and you can see they are 3rd or 4th generation Croats or Serbs meaning they really don't know much about the situation. Brazil is a very cosmopolitan place but much like every 3rd or 4th gen. people their real country is the one where they live in, in this case Brazil. We might have had different experiences though.

People here crack me up hard man. The other day at this picnic at a church here in Mississauga I was talking to a friend of mine about Serbia's situation with Kosovo, because she genuinely wanted to know.. and as soon as I said Serbia, some 16-17 year old dickweed kid turns to me and says "What the fuck are you doing here, Serb?", and so he assumed that I was just because I said Serbia. It kind of hit a nerve to see someone, who doesn't even know shit all about the language of his "Mother Country", so naturally because of his ignorance, I honestly snapped haha. Made that kid eat dirt, in front of all his little girlfriends. Uneducated little shitbucket.

There's a lot of Albos there that have assimilated, and call themselves Italo-Brazilian.
