Australia has alot of nationalistic Masos, Croats, Serbs and Greeks. From what ive seen Croats seem the worst though. Its not just these small symbols and little riots. But ustasa terrorists used to plant bombs outside embassy's. Doesnt happen anymore though thankfully.
Welcome to the forum BigMac but I had to edit your comment this time as it was not factually correct. Thanks.

It's because Tudjman's men were not, he killed these people in order for his own political progress. Why can't you guys get that already??? Affiliating with Nazis and killing Serbs is political progress in Croatia? I am very happy I've never been there. Some of these kids are not like me, many were born over there; you can't judge a whole group. I know one man in particular who faught in Vukovar and lost 1 child and his wife. The other is here with him. So can't blame them for being a little less forgiving. Ah, so he "fought" in Vukovar? That seems somewhat unlikely, though. If my girlfriends baba can have Croatian friends after having 3 near death experiences by the ustase when she was 12 including one putting a knife to her throat and if my deda can have Croatian friends even though he's one of the biggest Chetniks there is (even one gave him a tape full of Chetnik songs) then i dont see why the young ones are always fighting at tennis matches. I know, right?

This crap does seem to be the biggest problem in Australia for some reason though. I put some of it down to a generally isolated conservative atmosphere with hot weather.

Each to their own Skoric, doesn't mean these "ustase" don't have Serb friends. To the person who made a comment about the "groups" rather than individuals, you are right in some cases. But it was also people who went against other people for their own safety in the smaller scales. You would have to be an idiot not to see that. People are generally forgiving in nature, but not forgetting.
Zadnji, yes this poor man lost so much in the war and you know what he goes and does now? He enlist in the Australian army and get sent to Iraq recently. I said why do this after everything you went through over there and he's like "Well I don't have anything left so why not". I was about to cry, it's too sad.

By the by, the ADF didn't have combat missions in Iraq before it "left" Iraq (and only 3 deaths, all accidents).

^ Look even if we played in red , white, blue or the standard grb you would still make outlandish comments. However if there was the opposite to this or a communist outfit, I wouldn't raise a brow. But you have to make an issue out of everything. Get a life; but please just try and still make me laugh :-)
Could be, or he's just trying to be nice and not cause issues bez veze. Just like the Serbs who pretend to be Cro or Bos or moderate Serbs around me just to get me to like them. 2 faced also :-)

What outlandish comments? Theres heaps of Croat teams playing in their normal colours, what outlandish comments have i made. When i said my deda and girlfriends baba have Croat friends was that some kind of insult to you? lol if anything i showed how Croats are not all ustasa racists by using the example of my dedas friend giving him Serb song tapes. Its obvious this ustasa topic is a sensitive issue for you. I havnt even attacked and you get all defensive. ;D But no matter how much you hide your ustasiness, it comes out everynow and then. Like this comment you left me once. Now are you gonna use your Ustasa instinct and edit this post and lock the topic?

Wrong word, you picking out everything against all things Croatian better?
The quote above was saying "if" we were what you think we are i.e Ustase, yes we would have created what I had said instead of leaving. You clearly can't read proper English in that case. I don't need your nice to know stories of your baba...because I'm sure you don't want to hear that my grandfathers father was killed by Ustase in front of him for helping his secular/in no man's land brother in 1944. How does that make me an Ustasa, grow up.

Illyria, you say one thing but Croats in Australia do another. I know that not all Croats are like that (just the loud and proactive ones) but the "moderate" Croats in Australia have done little to nothing to curb this culture. Indeed, Croats in Croatia have also done nothing. But one cannot single out Croats for blame especially since this type of thought and behaviour seems to have been encouraged for the past 70 years by authorities all over the western hemisphere.

You clearly know nothing about the silencing of many Croatian truths back in Croatia. I have personal emails/message that I could provide with that mentality personally trying to silence and intimidate such individuals and group. So please don't talk govno that "moderate" Croats are not hard and trying to curb our freedom and history. In any case "this type of behaviour" you mention is freedom of speech.

What i dont understand, is now that Croatia is independent and has what the majority of Croats wanted, why do people still find the need to wear facist symbols, for example that thompson bloke, the guy the thinks he is Bono from u2[obviously the nazi version] i mean whats the point of him and all his nationalistic songs, he honestly is not a very good singer, its like the bristish singing about how they massacared the indians and blacks in its empire heyday, it just doesn't make sense, its nothing to be proud off.

^Before you make incorrect statements:
His songs are of two categories: patriotism for his country and about love. He does not talk about killing anyone deliberately and does not celebrate it. He sings about being proud of defending his country, please don't compare him to the imperialistic Brits.
Also, the ustasa symbol is not a facist one. It was created long before NDH was connected in any way with the German allies. No 2, MPT is not and never was a Nazi or a member of any Nazi affiliated party.

Yes ok illyria but still whats the point?, Croatia has nothing to prove anymore, they have everything they wanted, these symbols and gestures[nazi hand salute] seem very idiotic, most countries around the world would find these symbols and what they stand for unexceptable, so whats the point?

I was correcting you. It also seem very idiotic to brainwash a nation and cleanse them of their history. Let people embrace and celebrate that; instead of dissing them and putting them into categories that they do not belong too.

My history books have taught me that ustasa are allies with the Nazis and the Nazis are the bad guys right, so i really don't see what's to be proud of, is it not as simple as that?
