My girlfriends cousin worked there(in Istanbul) for 2 years and he said it was great. A little pollution(smog) in the city but other than that he only had good words about it.
I would like to visit it in the future. I haven't travelled to any Balkan or neighbouring countries.

from the link you posted: "note: percentages are estimates; there are no available current statistics on religious affiliation". No statistics is better than a bad statistics. Even if a real national-wide statistic was held, the number of non-believers is believed to be very high. I really do hope the number of Catholics go up. That would shut up all (greeks, serbs and islam-minded Albanians) once and for all. this is the stupidest thing I've ever read anywhere. coming from an "Orthodox" from Fieri ;D ........you poor Communist by-product, go back to your bunker and stop using the interenets you might hurt yourself.

Catholic Church in Tirana very impressing church. what's more impressing, is that unlike all the other colorful buidlings in Tirana it doesn't look as if it was painted by someone who's been tripping on acid one 2 many times.

I grew up around that Catholic Church During my childhood the building was converted to a theater for children. Id go as a kid on Sunday for the 10:30 show and seethe play. They used to play shows in 2 main forms. Actors would wear customs of their characters ( mascot style ) and most of the plays where classic stories from Lafonten or Albanian legends or fairy tales and the other form of show would be Mupet style or Manikin. It was a good size gallery and a beautiful setting inside with marble colonnades holding the roof. As a grown up i went again when it turned to the original function as a church and participated with some Catholic friends a Mass out of curiosity. The Orthodox Church is very very close to it and was build strangely enough in 1967 on the year of the abolishment of religions in Albania. The Orthodox Church was transformed into the headquarters of the Sport Club Tirana and the land around was the training ground and set up in courts for the exercising of Basketball and volleyball teams. It also was returned to the original functions after the 1990 and has served as the main spot of people for the Easter celebrations nowdays. The main and the only Mosque in Tirane at the time wasn't far too, only 10 minute walk and had a slightly different story, it was maintained as such on the appearance and was functioning as a museum during comunism. It was elegant and artfully decorated with floral paintings. Now is another bigger Orthodox church build again very close to the area and also a Catholic Cathedral only few hundred meters from each other. I have no info if any Mosque of that scale is build new in Tirane.

I don't think it's very serious ... I don't trust in God, but still, I consider myself as a muslim.

In any case, all Albanians of all religions like to have good relations with Turkey. Of course they do..after all it wasn't too long ago that Albania was called "European Turkey". how long was that to be precise, our resident scholar? circa 1250 perhaps?
