I must give u serious hardons... wow...
Anyway, Im friends with a number of Arberesh Italians on facebook/youtube and converse with them frequently. Most of them are aware of the similarities and differences between Arberesh and Albanians but they can still converse with me and one called me a "cousin"(cugino/kushurir). There are numerous Albanian immigrants in these villages and experiences have varied for all of them.
Unlike the Arvanites, they are very aware of their origins, however distant.

It's amazing how the signs are not in Arberisht but in standard Albanian.

They adopted modern Albanian letters during the 70s. They also adopted Albanian costumes, principally the Gheg type though.
Although modern official Albanian is considered a low and degraded by them, they still use it for official stuff. Particularly as Arberesh lacks a truly formed vocabulary.

Wonder why they adopted Gheg costumes as opposed to the Tosk ones since they are mainly from Morea. Perhpas they want to identify themselves as descendants of Scanderbeg, hence the Northern attire.

Its closer to local Italian clothing. The fustanelle is... foreign for them. Most of my Italian friends find it extremely comical.
Nevertheless, they wear that as well.

I don't know man I believe someone who judges someone based on a specific religion lacks individual reasoning; simply for the fact that religion in my opinion is a lame fairy tale made by humans to control the fools. Thus allowing religion to form your opinions about someone is allowing your brain to be hijacked by those who aim to turn you into a tool.
