Of course ... how audacious of that man to not take racial insults with a smile and keep on with his labor.

Why is "alvanos" offensive and racist insult...? ... in that form ( Alvanos) they were first known in history by our writers... ;D If someone in England call me "Greek" , or in Turkey "Rum" or "Yunan" etc...will I get a hummer and start hit him on his head? ...varvaroi...

So calling someone after his ethnic background is an insult to you? So thats how you guys are evaluating your ethnicity?
To give a counterexample...many of my mates call me by "Greek" (in German "Grieche")...and I do never feel insulted by that...since thats what I am...if the alvanos cant deal with what he is then he should commit suicide and leave his fellow men alone. He is an alvanos and thats he will always be...no matter how many people he will injure...

LOL, dont act ignorant. Of course the term in itself isn't an insult ... but the way you call someone "Albanian" or "Greek" may or may not make it an insult. Here in Sweden, the term "invandrare" is the official term for immigrants, and surely in itself, the term isn't insulting, because it reflects reality; we are immigrants, not indigenous Swedes. But if some neo-nazi uses it to adress people with a degrading tone, it becomes an insult.
PS I am not justifying this man's action, surely just a slap in the face would've worked better. But this whole thread is inflamatory to begin with ... if the likes of Leandros would rule the world, the exposed would merely be grateful and quiet and accept all kinds of insults with smiles on their face, eternaly in debt.

You're having trouble understanding what Donnie said. The term "Alvanos" is not offensive, but the manner, tone and the situation in which something is said, could make the term "Alvanos" offensive.
Take the word Jew. If I were to say John is a Jew, the term would most likely be socially acceptable. Now if I were to go on a bus and say "Jew get up from your seat." Then it's a different story. In that situation, I would look like a bigot.
As for Kastor, something amongst friends is a totally different situation in itself. I can joke around with my friend and call them for i.e. "asshole, fag, etc" and its all in joking manner. Now what would happen if I were to say the same to a stranger?
Anyways, the Albanian had a hot temper and no person should have the right to hit someone with a hammer (unless you were to hit someone in self defense.)

They understand fully well Logjik, no need to provide them with more examples. They just act ignorant ... yet none raises a brow when that kid was stabbed to death for celebrating Albania's victory over Greece.
but as I said, going on someone with a hammer was going too far ... a slap to the face or smth similiar would have been sufficient.

Im not called "Greek" in joking manner. I understand very well what you mean but I simply dont agree with you that it has to be understood as insult because my ethnicity is no insult no matter how someone means it...

Well the Albanian wanted to hit first and ask questions later that same approach has landed a lot of Albanians in trouble.Always with the knife in hand or a 2x4.... I guess when one has enough ...he takes it to another level.... I know some Greeks that had it coming to them.... Respect and you will be respected.

Greek dude killed his wife on the market here in NYC last year. What's your point greekscandal?
Kastor stop the BS for at least once. There are stereotypes for every ethnicity out there and when you are referred as one of those stereotypes nobody likes. I don't wanna even bother going on about what the stereotypes for the Greeks are out there. Now if you are referred to as that sterotype because of your greekness and don't mind it then either you are that stereotype or you are not an average joe.
P.S I didn't bother reading what leandros posted.

Is Gricki the standard form of how you call a Greek? Does Gricki mean Greek? Or is it a special degrading form?
