Three ethnic Albanians were sentenced to jail terms ranging from six to eight years today for anti-state activities in the first of a series of trials stemming from violent Albanian nationalist riots in Yugoslavia's province of Kosovo last spring.
The official press agency Tanyug said the three men formed a clandestine group known as the People's Liberation Movement of Kosovo last year, with the aim of destroying Yugoslavia's social and political system and forcibly annexing the province to neighboring Albania.
The trial resulted in the convictions of Bislim Bajrami, Jakup Redzepi and Ismail Makici.

Well, what about Serbs & Montenegrins with names like Marko, Djuradj, Nikola, Nemanja, Petar, Danijel, Ivan/Jovan, Mihajlo? All widespread names in Serbia and Montenegro, all names of non-Slav origins.

First off...Nemanja is not traditionally used in Montenegro
Second, we do have some borrowed names, but we change them to suit our language and culture
So Djuradj from Georgios..ect ect
But I see your point, but I am against these loan-names in general and I'd rather my kids have Montenegrin names like Gasho, Vujan or Labud, instead of Marko, Stefan or something...

You've altered them because that's a natural process in every culture. English John, Albanian Gjon, Italian Giovanni, Greek Ioannis, Slavic Ivan all have the same origin.
The same with Muslim names among Albanians; Lila for Halil, Cana for Hasan, Dani for Ramadan, Cufa for Jusuf, Avdush for Abdi, Tafa for Mustafa etc. Or even Christian names; Shtjefën for Stephen, Doda for Dominik, Leka for Alexander, Gjergj for George, Mitrush for Demeter, Thanas for Athanasios, Mëhill/Mihal/Mikel for Michael and so forth.
Today, however, most Albanian children are given Albanian names that are somehow significiant to our culture or/and history or have a clear meaning in or language.

Okay well, nice to see we're on the same page.
Much better seeing an Albanian named Tafa instead of "mustafa".
It's always important to retain your people's distinguishable traits and uniqueness
