Janny, I have to disagree with you, Korea, Japan, etc, they are under US umbrella...if that is lifted up, no social and no economic benefit...I think Turkey should join EU as soon as possible. Japan established its constitutional reforms back in the late 19th Century when the Ottoman Turkey was breaking up. That is why, they had the resources to defeat the Russian NAVY in early 20th Century, or had the industrial bases to build some navy which was even capable of destroying the US fleet in 1941. In that sense, the Japanese economic revival occurred in 1970s was not some miracle at all. Korea established its reforms in 1960s and 1970s, and achieved some rapid growth by following the Japanese example. The USA did not prevent the growth of the Korean economy due to the communist threat hanging upon the "American Asia". However, there was one model that the Koreans followed, and it came out to be successful as it happened in the case of Japan. Turkey started such reform process in 1930s, and it was halted after the WWII. This was due to the emerging Turkish alliance with the "Imperialist West" as a consequence of the "Stalinist Threat". After all, it is important to note that Turkey supposedly had been in the side of the Western Block (under Western umbrella) for many decades, but such alliance did not yield some positive outcome either.

Romania had its reforms in the 1990s, and now is a tiger economy Turkey has a great future, but only if and only if it will join EU, this will bring westernization and modernization of Turkey which soon will be the largest country in EU (by population). Thus Turkey will drop its status of weak economy, and turn to modern technologies, information era.

Vlach is an exonym. All Romanians are vlachs... Aromanians are also Romanians, it's the same nation with different people. In China or India you can find as many as 60 kind of people, it's still the same nation. i agree about China and India. Even in Spain u have people that speak almost different language but are CONSIDERING THEMSELVES Spanish. If Aromanians do not feel they are Romanians u cant force them. Thats why its logical to have 2 options: Romanians and Vlachs! So that they point out they are vlachs. Bulgarians also think Macedonians are Bulgarians, but they dont think so. So at present They are not part of the Bulgarian nation and they have the (wicked) right to not be Bulgarians

Bosniak, you probably do not make difference between Bulgarians (citzen of today BG) and Bulgars (steppe ppl of turkic origin). Remember, we are Bulgarians (also citizen of BG), but not Bulgars. That's why you voted wrong in the poll..
