I dont get why Anittas, diurpaneus and aofg hate Bulgarians.
Good question ioan, I don't either. I can speculate though:
aofg has absolutely no social skills, and as soon as someone elses opinion is not the same as his he'll call you idiot, animal or cultureless. I remember having a conversation with him of quality of life (and how to measure it), and even there he couldn't hold a proper conversation. That man has issues, and I don't believe there is not one person he did not insult.
diurpaneus he tries to hard to be cool or clever, but he usually fails.
Anittas seems to have very deep rooted hatred of Bulgarians and Wallachians, for reasons which are incomprehensible to me.
However if you want a more representative view of what Romanians think of Bulgarians (and vice versa), I would recommend this thread:

Back to the topic in hand:
There was a time when a couple of (very nasty) Bulgarians by the names of Kotrag, omurtag posted this kind of stuff that Romania owes a lot to Bulgaria and making very deragotary remarks at Romania. Needless to say it turned very nasty with members being banned people boycotting each other's forums, etc... and I think people are a bit sensitive to that (especially people who have been through that).
Before I comment on the Bulgarian claims, I would like to state the theory of time relevance. Namely:
- Events that happened over 500 years ago have a 5% relevance on today's situation.
- Events that happened between 200 and 500 years ago have a 10% relevance on today's situation.
- Events that happened between 100 and 200 years ago have a 15% relevance on today's situation.
- Events that happened between 50 and 100 years ago have a 20% relevance on today's situation.
- Events that happened within the last 50 years ago have a 50% relevance on today's situation.
Now to the three points:
(1) Alphabet: the current Romanian alphabet comes from Transylvania, and it was beginning to be used from the beginning of the 1700s, with the cyrillic being completely replaced in 1860. Not to forget that before 1860 most people were illiterate so this alphabet only affect a small % of the population. So at MOST the alphabet that the Bulgarians gave to Romania has no more 15% relevance to Romania today.
(2) Systems of governance: Well since the union of the prinicipalities, Romania chose to reform its government discarded the archaic and unstable "slavonic" type of governance for a Western style constitutional monarchy (as Bulgaria did). Ever since then the way Romania governed itself was never styled from Bulgaria. Therefore this has at MOST 20% relevance.
(3) Religion: Well I can give you the benefit of the doubt on this one, even though it is contestable where Romanians got their religon from, it is true that the liturgy came from Bulgaria.
Its horrible that since at least mid 20 century both countries act like the other dont exsist, although we have had same historic route and its visible if u have been in both countries.
It is true that many ignorant Romanians and Bulgarians had similar (and derogatory) views of each other, and there was a lot of ignorance before 2000, but the situation is changing now. And anyway, it is not ignorant people who have the most say in current affairs.
