One of the things that I found very interesting about the historical destruction of Smyrna is the fact the Turks took revenge upon the Greek civilian population but also used as an opportune moment to rid the city of Armenians. Why were Armenians attacked in this conflict? They had absolutely nothing to do with this conflict at all.

What he means is that the winner is right and the loser is wrong. Well, what I mean is that the winners will always be happy and the losers will always whine. That is life. PEACE

Okay, my country is not a loser when it comes to that conflict, because we were not involved, so my participation in this thread is not whine. If we must determine the morals on the rules of engagement, we must analyze the events that unfolded. That is where the issue is, I think. Not that you were victorious.

Nobody inherits somebody else's crimes. Everybody is accountable only for themselves. If there was a crime it will be judged fairly on the day of Judgement. No worries...
Since nobody of us was there and knows all the circumstances very well, we can't say we have much say on that issue. History is full with subjective and biased views. It is not reasonable to assume that any of them is objective enough for us to conclude in perfect manner. Only Allah knows the best!
So chill out and try to prove yourselves worthy. Be better than your ancestors. They tried their best and now it is our turn. Move on!
PEACE
