LOL; I mean if I was hearing this stuff from the French, the Brits or the Germans I would actually pay some attention but from the Greeks. C'mon guys have just a little bit of decency. I mean a Turk general farts in Instambul and the whole Athens shivers. Please. If there's any a$$lickers there's none bigger than you guys. Marshall plan anyone? Also what is Greece's contribution to the EU apart from the huge dent to its budget from the billions of dollars of loans it gets from it every year? Let me not even mention the role of the Brits and the West on liberating Greece from fascism. The very least you guys can do is take a deep look in the mirror before you point your finger. Well, if you don't... like Greek economy...you can come and take all the Alvanous and take them to Skiperi... they have ten times better life from that in Albania...
During the WW2 all the allies helped the other allies... in adittion Greece won a crucial war by its one...
while Albos, with the same third world mentality that makes a people in 2010 to raise a statue of an american president and enjoy it, joined the invaders...or in the best occation were milking their goats in their strugas...
If you want to enter the European world, forget that mentality... or decide it and ally with China...convert to budhism...and write a new licking page in your history....

Every country sets up allies and allegiances. Considering Albania is surrounded by Slavs and Greeks that wish for their state to be split up and it's people killed, I applaud the allegiance with America.  Logjik,its very primitive thing for Albanians to worship n go gaga over Americans like that. For a nation that boast about being European,it sure is very tacky to treat Clinton the way you guys did. And you know Europeans,on par with Americans on progress,modernity,the ideal etc But with this reaction of Albs,its very much like those 3rd world countries,where the people act like they've never seen anything modern etc . My country is not 3rd world.We are classed as developed already  You dont see Western Europeans behaving like you guys did.Their not impressed by America like you guys: woooooowwwww......Americanskiii.....Please have you noticed the receptions Obama has received in these Western Countries? How about the celebrations around the world when Obama won. Take this video for example: Here there are thousands of "Europeans" gathering for a Black foreign president. Sounds Un-European if you ask me. America has been one of the few Superpowers to help Albanians. Putting up a simple statue to show our thanks to Bill Clintons is the least we can do. Not to mention Bill's wife is Secretary of State and can help with more recognition. There's always politics involved with these sort of things. Funny hearing Greeks speak of "ass lickers.". Greece is in the EU where it's authority is limited by the likes of France and Germany. Constantly I hear of Greeks complaining about the pressure Europeans have placed on Greece (for i.e. immigration issues.) So Patrinos/Kanaris/ or any other Grek, if you are not an "ass licker" like you say you are, why is Greece in the EU? Wouldn't Greece be better off without them? Surely Greece would have more sovereignty and would not have to adhere (or for a better term "lick ass") to the big dogs in the EU. Or does Greece join the likes of EU and NATO for security reasons to keep Turkey out of it's country. I bet it doesn't hurt that the EU allows free borders and has allowed it's Tourist industry to boom. Remember your country's economy depends on licking the ass of Western tourists. All countries who entered EU accepted the terms... EU pressure to all countries most times works beneficial for the states because the governments don't usually dare to take some necessary measures that are not good for some socioeconomic groups but good for the general interest...e.g. EU this period pressure all the members to equalize the retirement age of the two sexes... Greece is in EU for about 3 decades, and its true that it had so far very good results. You Albos dont want to join EU...?  ....?... When i see on TV or in the internet Albanian politicians they have the flag of EU next to the albanian....even if you are not yet candidate....  Can you demand from your government to stop allowing tourists to enter Albania, if you consider it ass licking on tourists...? And in Greece, the chamberers in the hotels where the tourists live are Albos...is that bad? Raising a STATUE in 2009 for a foreign president and celebrate it is pathetic, and disgrace for Balkans... i doubt if Zoulou would accept simiral things... My point is entering the EU requires to lose some sovereignty and as you like to refer to it "lick ass" to the major powers in the EU. But it's a good thing Greece joined EU and rid itself of communism or you'd be in the same terrible shape as the rest of the Balkans economically. That was my point and there was "ass licking" involved to get Greece where it is today. |

The Marshall plan was a long time ago..people change...thats the least they could have done to a country that gave them WW2 first major victory against the Axis...a delay of more than two months for the Nazis operation Barbarossa.... that ended putting them smack dap in the middle of Russian winter.....there is a tale to tell as to why Europe let a dirt poor Balkan country enter back in 1980...and it's breakaway province of Cyprus....
Greece's heart is with Europe... not America...

If you read Heins Guderian's memoirs from the eastern front you would know that the chief reason for the delay was Hitler's diversion of the eastern army into the Ukraine in order to secure the grain there. The entire operation cost the Germans about a month and by the time it was finished, Barbarossa was very very late. Hitler did not make Moscow a priority and put significant focus on trying to capture the Ukraine. Guderian's memoirs focuses heavily on this mistake. He mentions the operations in Yugoslavia and Greece only as a footnote.
