Keep dreaming , not going to happen. Accept reality. Moving right along...
Nothing unrealistic about it. Refugees return, demographics play their role, Hrvatska 'fesses up to their embarrassing war crimes and grants Krajina autonomy within the Croat state. Showing good faith to the UN and EU. That's something a forward-thinking, EU aspiring Zagreb Croat would agree with, not one from Herceg-Bosna or some other second-rate Croat enclave.
When you play with fire you get burned. Krajina Serbs took a gamble and they lost. When they knew they would lose the war they decided to leave, we didn't make them. Those columns of tractors and people leaving were escorted by Serbian troops , not Croatian.
Krajina Serbs fought valiantly for their homes and their land against invaders, their blood pervades the soil, and their sweat and tears echo through and wash out the cliffs, crags and mountains of the Krajina. The Oluja is recognized by the tribunal as a war crime, it was the Croatian blitzkrieg, and left so many homes destroyed, innocent civilians dead and scarred that people had no choice but to leave just to tell the tale and maybe one day, allow an avenger to arise from their ashes.
Serbs are a relatively small minority in these places. If Bosnia was partitioned its almost certain these towns would go to Croatia as they are virtually on the border already.
So? Croats were a relatively small minority in Srpska Krajina, that didn't stop Croats from forcefully annexing it. If Croatia were to participate in such an act it would breach International order and threaten EU membership. Same deal if Serbia annexed RS. I assume you're all right with Brcko going to RS though, I respect that.
Yet it has about only 1/4 of the population and R.S. Cedos such as yourself demand even more land. That's funny bro.
Be glad after everything that you have Knin, Vukovar and Dubrovnik. You gambled and won the jackpot with them. (rigged more like it)
Nope , R.S. would claim independence. R.S. leadership is just waiting for that opportune moment when Bosnia becomes destabilized. We can't really be aggressors as we are compact and have no real land dispute with the Muslims anyway. Any land grabs would have to be initiated by the Muslims and they are hungry to devour whats left of the Croatian enclaves in Central BiH, they can't touch Hercegovina. HB autonomy would come diplomatically. We aren't like Cede meaning we don't start shooting our neighbors after a good round of sljivo because we get pumped up by propaganda and think we're either living in 14th century or WW2. A new deal for the Croats would be necessary to bring them and Croatia itself behind Sarajevo and guess what , even leftist president of Croatia Josipovic isn't all about coddling Sarajevo like Mesic was.
RS borders are clear, and it's eventual independence is indisputable in Bosnia. It's a reality every single muslim politician and citizen accepts, and for the most part, is ok with - aside from the few nationalist muslims particularly in Zenica of course.
With this eventual unilateral declaration of RS, there is a good chance sarajevo will make a fuss and complain to the international powers that be, but ultimately make no agressive engagements.
However RS's declaration has a strong chance it will stir-up and compel the BiH Croats to reform their entity and this would not only lose this "new" Bosnia a large chunk of land, including Mostar, but effectively cut Sarajevo off from Bihac. And this would theoretically be the last straw, literally backing the muslims into a corner. And when in a corner, they will see no option but attack.
Mostar could very well be the site of the rebirth of the Bosnian conflict.
I actually agree with you. Not to put the Serb side in an innocent light ( you know the wonderful trick of victimizing aggressors) but the West was far to sympathetic to the Muslims. Not hard to see why. The Serbs were stupid enough to shell the holy dogcrap out of Sarajevo, set about a million snipers (exaggeration added for effect) for the sole purpose of civilian target practice ( fear tactic) , and even shelling places near where the western media was in Sarajevo. I mean what were your stupid generals and commanders thinking? Don't they know the Wests' window to Bosnia would be through Sarajevo and Muslim translators? No but hardcore Muslim aggression didn't come that much at Serb expense. Serbs outgunned the Muslims pretty much the whole time but the Muslims took the next best option and attacked the far less better armed Croats and it was logically sound because Muslims already surrounded Croat enclaves. Like I said , those Mujahedin weren't sent to the front line against the Serbs, they were sent to those evil Catholic Croats in Central Bosnia and of course any Serb would also happen to be a target if any were still around probably shacking up with Croats at this point. Media didn't see that because the Media was too busy making a sob story out of Sarajevo because the Serbs weren't smart enough to stop looking stupid to the western press. In fact , Serb aggression in Eastern BiH overshadowed the Muslim aggression in Central BiH nevermind the fact that even Serbs along with Croats were dying to the guns and knives of the Muslims in Central BiH.
Sure, though plenty of Wahabbis in Zenica and Tuzla were fighting VRS on the regular, and the most notorious muslim general Naser Oric was slaying Serb civilians in Srebrenica and eastern Srpska, but besides that you're right. VRS wanted to take Sarajevo, plain and simple, we needed the city in which to center our new republic and finally rid Bosnia of it's muslim overlords.
We were naive to think that western media would empathize with christian defenders and share our antagonism with muslim invaders but we were shown very clearly where the west's real motives and values lie.
The introduction of the HV into Bosnia in 1995 eventually pushed the Serbs to the negotiating table. It wasn't the NATO bombing raids or the small skrimish victories of the ABiH, it was the freaking HV and Milosevic's sudden lack of real support that pacified the VRS ( and its unofficial Serbia troops) and Krajina Armies to accept a real cease fire. And a cease fire is all Dayton really is. Lets hope the HV wouldn't make the same mistake this time and will broker their brothers in Bosnia a much better deal.
Yes you're right. The Bosnian war officially hasn't ended - only a ceasefire. But RS's borders are concrete and the people consolidated, once the ceasefire is lifted it won't take long for RS to grab up Bihac, Glamoc and maybe even Tuzla. The muslims effectively are in the worst geopolitical situation currently.
I think the Croats will be able to secure Duvno-Mostar especially if they receive HR support.
You've been rubbing elbows with too many nationalist Serbs Not all Bosnians are Muslims and not all Muslims are 'ex Serbs.' But you do have a point. Bos. Muslims and Serb have the oddest love/hate relationship with each other bordering on insanity. Many on both sides still crave the old Yugo days and Bosnian Muslim kids still go nuts at listening to Serb singers like 'Ceca' or 'Lepa Brena' who married and cheered on their butchers, I mean hell they even pack a stadium and pay money to hear these biznatches sing. There is a reason Ceca is not welcomed in Croatia to consider a more rational stance. We don't forget. Ah well , I guess its fitting. The Serbs and Muslims are made to be in their eternal dance of insanity together
Hmm Srbovanje, it's a common phenomenon in night clubs across the dalmatian coast as well
