In the 1970s Arberesh were very socialist influenced and adopted things from Albania, which was socialist and thus in their favor. They adopted such things as:
- Monastir alphabet - Albanian traditional clothing - Albanian vocabulary to help sustain the language.
The idealization of Communist Albania ended in 1991... when the realities of communism began to show.

I believe Vlonjat or Durrsak You can't notice from the pic but he actually has a typical 'Roman nose'.

I have to say, that many Albanians from these pictures look mixed. Most look European Mediterranean, but quite a number look mix, exotic like.Like Eurasian looking.Especially the picture of the girl in the last post.
But nonetheless, their European features are obvious and strong. So! Many European Mediterranean looking ones, few Aryan looking ones, quite a few exotic looking ones as well.
Could it be Gypsy ancestry?

With the last girl, the euroasian impression is largely because of the angle of the photo. She also has a fake tan, her complexion is naturally lighter.

Hellboy, That girl doesn't look gyspy at all. IMO the guy in the orange shorts near the bottom is a better example of an assimilated gypsy.

These folks,if you look at them, you'll know they are definitely not Scandinavian or even from the norther mainland Europe(Germany,Benelux) They have strong non-European features. In fact, quite a few of them,if I saw this picture without knowing they're Albos,I would think probably Gypsy or from the Near East. Quite a number of exotic looking Albs. Btw,the reason why I said could be Gypsy, because they are the most prominent Asian group in the Balkans,so I thought the exoticness of many Balkanians could be the result of having Gypsy ancestry. The three girls in bikini in the middle except the black bikini one could also pass of Latin American. Those very mixed ones.

I'm not a pseduo-Anthropologist but I don't think Albanians look much like Northern Europeans. I don't think most Albanians have claimed such a thing. In some places of Northern Albania you will find a more "Northern European" look which could be the result of the Celtic invasion. But in the majority people in the Balkans (Albanians included) tend to have a different look then those Northern Europeans, but even then there are certain characteristics that you can tell them apart. When I go to Macedonia, I can usually tell who's Albanian and who's Slavic. In some cases, its not so easy. As for the "exotic" comments, I'm not even sure where you're getting at. What's so exotic about them? Is it due to skin pigmentation? Eye characteristics? Facial features or what? Because the girls you claim to look from Latin America are in a bikini and probably have been tanning at the beach lol.

I personally think that this is the best look Albanians can have: No nasty med here. Almost looks like he came in on a boat from Norse country.
