So I don't really watch a lot of movies but I was really looking forward to this one because I do love sci-fi & I loved the vibe of this one. The trailer is pretty s**tty but I had faith it would be better & it was. This is not a thinking movie. Thankfully they didn't make up too much psychobabble Star Treck style. I was worried about that and I was a bit worried about the storyline. I was hoping it wasn't going to be too politically correct which it is a bit but not too much. Actually it leaves a good amount to personal imagination on the storyline which is good. The movie is pure fantasy & I loved it. Ever since finding Boris Vallejo fantasy art and watching the Fifth Element I've always wanted to get it on with a tall blue alien chick & this movie delivers really well on that front. The blue alien chick is hawt & very feminine! The 3D is cool as well. At first it's pretty intense but then later you're not sure if it's 3D or not. The best 3D parts are when you see floating particles like ash and dust. Also one part where there's a reflective 3D mirror which was cool. Anyway I definately want to see this movie again at the cinemas (pref stoned) & I've prob never watched a movie twice.

and watching the Fifth Element I've always wanted to get it on with a tall blue alien chickThe voice behind that movie is Albanian soprano, Inva Mula. She has a great voice. As for Avatar, ill watch it when my basement is done. I've heard a lot about this movie. Usually from Serbs on the internet.

I just came from seeing it on IMAX in the City. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Typical guilt ridden pro-tree hugging native/anti-industrial evil imperialist film.

haha yeah a black guy Armond White said this about it...
"Avatar is the corniest movie ever made about the white man’s need to lose his identity and assuage racial, political, sexual and historical guilt."
Anyway I just made up a different dialog and side stories in my head as it went along which helped.

i loved it but it had some very naive messages like the circle of energy, how precious unknown cultures can be, that we are afraid of any difference, that the universalism kills the beauty of the smaller subcultures etc... i loved it because i saw it as antibush, antiamerican, anticomsumeristic, antiwar (in irac) movie, however it really was too naive at parts. on the other hand most blockbusters are such.

The movie is lame without Imax, Ermir. I suggest you just watch like that. Otherwise its a rather bland story.

I just saw it and thought it was utter nonsense. None of the s**t they say makes any sense whatsoever, the storyline was just f**ken stupid, and the message about how great the Natives were and how bad White people are angers me greatly. If their so great, they why do they contribute absolutely nothing to society?
Just another lame ass film designed to make White Americans feel more guilty than they already are. I mean at least if it was good, than alright but it was just plain stupid and utterly retarded.

Srbodan, its a cultural relativist film. A mentality that is promoted today among anthropologists. The idea that each people have a uniqueness of culture that, while it didnt equate to industrialism, liberalism, free thinking...

The idea that each people have a uniqueness of culture that, while it didnt equate to industrialism, liberalism, free thinking... I have a passionate dislike for most anthropologists, who'm I see as poorly disguised feminists & heterophobes pretending they don't have an agenda. So much of the reasoning is just ridiculous. You can make up any story you want to describe human behaviour and call it anthropology. They're especially good at criticising white people or traditional mainstream behaviour and putting primitive cultures on a pedestal.
