Do not worry, those who think Bulgarians were Tatars, still call u tatar behind your back. To call Bulgarians Tatars is completely unscientific, especially having in mind how much Bulgarians suffered from the Tatars.

Not to mention that the only defeat Ghengiz Khan suffered was against the Volga Bulgars but it is probably too much of a knowledge for Nikola and Novi.

Hey, I'm not calling Bulgarians Tatars, it's just what other people call you to get under your skin. And it works every time.

I for one have never though of them as Bulgarians when I was being raised in Yugoslavia nor have I known one one of them to view them selves as such and I have seen scores of them on Montenegrin coast.
That is the situation now and it has been for some time at least.

ROFL And at one point I though nothing could surprise me here anymore. What is there to allign with you? Your history may be? That can be gathered in one small sheet of a notebook. You claims? That make everyone look at you as at the ultimate idiots in Europe? Or may be the enormous attempts of a theft your 'historians' exercise every day stealing any Bulgarian who has happened to be born in fyrom, lived or set foot there? Tell me what because I am missing it.

Nikola, thats what I call delusion at best. Everyone who have met and talked to both Bulgarians and fyromians will tell u we are the same. We look the same, we have the same language, same culture, same religion, same myths etc. If u think u are more European then us, I d say you are very delusional. In the end we are in EU, not you. There is nothing Turkish neither in our language, our religion and yes there are cultural influences but deffinately not bigger than in the other Balkan states. For gods sake, fyrom was first taken by the Turks and last liberated.

If u think u are more European then us, I d say you are very delusional. I never said you were not European or that we are more European than you. Why do you always take everything I write out of context? I know that Bulgarians are just like other Balkan people. I know you are not Turks. I just said that people call you those things to insult you, and you do get insulted every time.

"I still stand by my comment earlier though. It's just my theory but, here is the way I see it; Bulgaria is at the edge of Europe and borders with Turkey. Bulgarians get called Tatars and Turks all the time (maybe even undeservedly), and FY Macedonians do not, so they try to align themselves to us because it makes Bulgarians more Balkan and European and less Turkish."
Nikola, the Bulgarian nation is a slavic nation (besides my teasing of them). The larger population of undifferentiated slavs were subjugated by a much smaller Turkic Bulgar tribe, probably numbering around the 50,000 mark. Mixing of the slavs and turkics did occur and hence why the turanid race is present in Bulgaria, its most common in N.E Bulgarska according to some references.
History tells us that the Vardarians ARE NOT BULGARS!.

Like I said Novi, I know the Bulgarians are not Turks. I just think they take it to heart when people call them that, so they aggressively defend it.

^ Your right, it irritates them. Look, they see this Turkic tribe as one that made them great, hence why they defend them with such agrression.

And before the Bulgarian members ask for an example of what I'm talking about; videos like the one below really peeves them off. My fellow countrymen (who'm I do NOT agree with on this issue) are probably the biggest protagonists in this slander of Bulgarians, but Greeks and Albanians contribute a lot too.
Even in Google, if you type "bulgarians are", it will fill in "turks" for you.

Great video, Nikola. Amazing. Such powerful conclusions. So will you add Italy, Hungary and Mexico to the list of Turkic countries as well? They have the same flag, after all. And do you see any similarity between Zhivkov and that Mongol guy?

This is why we have so many arguments on this forum. Ruse, are you reading what I'm writing? I don't know how to make my point any more clear. I have said in every single post that I do not think you are turks or tatars and yet you still respond as though I do. I can't believe it.
