“Serbian companies will buy Bar port” 14 February 2010 | 16:44 | Source: Beta
KRALJEVO -- Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjić said that the Serbian consortium organized by the government will win the tender for purchasing the Bar port.
“The closest path to the sea for Serbia is through Montenegro, in which they have criticized me for my political aspirations…instead of praising me for ‘blowing wind in their sails,’ in order for someone to buy the port, because there are not many candidates,” Mrkonjić said.
“Serbia has a highway leading to Bar, and if we want to renovate that highway and lead our citizens to the sea on the closest possible route, that is one way, which some see as being political, even though I am always first speaking as a construction expert,” Mrkonjić said.
He stressed that the economic effects are most important when talking about the purchase of the Bar port and that the Serbian companies gathered within the MK Komerc consortium are interested in it because the road to Bar is the closest route to the sea.
Mrkonjić added that the tender for the sale of the Bar port was extended for another two months. www.b92.net/eng/news/business-article.php?yyyy=2010&mm=02&dd=14&nav_id=65199
