Chalkedon - the last clip you show has absolutely nothing to do with the Hussars. Steppe people are not Polish. This clip is from the last movie for King Arthur. And by the way - if you look at Tristan you'll see how the Bulgars looked and fought that time . The Sarmatians gave this heavy cavalry to everybody. Parthians had it, Persians, Bulgars, Hungarians, Avars, Khazars...What Serbs are you mentioning here?! At the time the heavy Sarmatian riders fought there were not even people called Serbs or Poles. It's interesting to know that the Polish Zlachta (their nobility) actually considered themselves direct descendants of the Royal Sarmatians ;D. Hey Atan ! Yes, i know the last clip was of the steppe people. And of course I know they werent Polish ;D I just liked the clip and figured I add it at the time. Your also correct about how the Polish nobility viewed themselves. Although Im not an expert on Sarmatians, I try to read up on it when I can. Good comments btw

;D I would agree on the Plus thing. The other suggestion is not likely to be true. These small face protection "protects" the nose. However the debri (ex. splinters) which are aimed at eyes, sides of neck are not taken in account. Which is wrong since these are the sensitive parts. Like you say - mainly decoration. Chalkedon - thanks ! By the way - I'm not sure if you guys know it but its very rare for two cavalry enemy companies to directly engage each other. The cavalry is useful once the lines of the enemies are broken. Only then. Otherwise no horseman can pass through the spear/shield wall. And of course is effective as well against undisciplined mob with no battle order. I don't remember exactly the name of the battle but it was between English and French druing Napoleonic wars. I think it was the second time Napoleon was defeated. Waterloo I think... The depiction was of the French Cuirassirs attacking the lined up and disciplined English infantry. They charged several times. The cavalry couldn't pass through the bayonettes and were almost annihilated by infantry's fire.

Patrinos - I don't need to read anything. I know more than you in almost any aspect of life. And yes - I said it myself. And your point? I said it was NOT a gift (as you claimed in the beginning). It was forced on us. You yourself proove it! And we became pussies like you. Our Khans raped you every time we engaged you one on one. EVERY time Patrinos! And we were much less than you as a number. And you were the suppossed Roman descendant?! With all of Rome's tactics and disciplines? Come on - if it wasn't the Franks you didn't stand a chance against us. You never actually stood any chance. Even your conquest of Bulgaria in the end of XI-th century was because of the Kievan Rus and the Pechenegs who did the job for you. And still you needed more than half a century to achieve your goal with all the economical and military forces of Byzantium against the small neighbour. The Great Greek warriors. Don't make me laugh.
Our alphabet Patrinos was made by the Slavic students of the St. Cyril and his brother. You don't have anything to do with it. Your clerks wanted us to listen to Greek language in the churches. Not ours.
Again Patrinos - no gift. Our invention.
Yes - our political system later resembled Byzantin's. Our churches and cities. Here you are right. And that is why we fell to the Turks altogether - we became weak like you. Kneeling to a weak, masohistic god.
The Turks were/are degenerates. Weaklings - echo of ancient glory of the Steppe Nomads. My Sarmatians from whom the Turkics learned. Still they had enough of this will to pass through our lands like storm. Why you didn't stop them Patrinos?
If we were standing there in all our might like in times we came first here - unspoiled by your two-face religion: The Turks Patrinos - the turks would have NO chance! No chance! But the sons of Avitohol, Zabergan, Kubrat, Asparukh, Tervel, Sabin, Malamir, Presian became women. Became like you. No gifts man! You gave us no gifts.
Thanks to us Patrinos there was Byzantium!!! To us!! Khan Tervel saved you from the Arabs. Tsar Kaloyan saved you from the Latins. We owe you nothing.

We owe you nothing. haha... what a new invention!!! : You must be grateful that we made you(Bulgars) to quit your nomad life. We made you part of the human civilization. What kind of pussies are we if we managed to control the most important medieval Empire for more than 1000 years and preserve our ancient Greek language, tradition and civilization...? If you think that Bulgars would had done better if they resisted in the cultural influence from Konstantinoupolis you are out of reality. This exact influence was the key of the relative succes of this steppes people(in contrast to the similar Avars, Cumans, Uygurs and Kutrigurs, Pecenegs etc etc). What about these bulgar warriors... all that massive might and bravery and couldn't take a city(Thessaloniki) all that centuries after plenty of attempts...? Not to mention Polis...
