Seen it. Easily the most fvcked up movie I've ever seen in my life. It was a well made movie though if you're able to see past the insanity. Wondering why they called it a "Serbian film"? Read the director's rationale. Oh and the trailer does not even prepare for what you're about to see. If anyone decides to watch it I'd suggest you watch it with others, I don't think one would be able to watch this movie alone, unless you're a sicko of course.

That's what everyone says about this film. I think it's coming out on DVD real soon. There's a point halfway through the movie where you say to yourself "OK the worst is finally over, I think I'll survive watching the rest of the movie" and then bam it gets significantly way worse and nothing prepares you for the end. My friend got it off the internet.

Interesting concept of a movie but why would they call it a "Serbian Film"? Can you think of a better way to gain attention? The Australian film industry made an attempt to get into Hollywood by making a film called Australia not too long ago. To me it's like a sarcastic play on the Serbian bad boy image. I just watched that Sylvester Stalone movie and Mickey Rourke goes on about how he took out some Serbian bad boys in Bosnia lol. I have a strong interest in dark things but this film reeks of bullshit to me. I have no interest in seeing it.

I find that very offensive. Though, to be fair, I can only pity the Americans as they flex their muscles while their world burns around them.

The really fucked up thing about this film is that the Serbian government gave it financing. The film center Serbia has a database of projects its given funding to, for 2010 this film is listed. www.fcs.rs/generic.php?page=film_godina

Certain government officials talk of improving Serbia's image. They often cite Turkey as an example. Last time I checked Turkey would never fund a movie that had the potential to be a Midnight Express 2.0. (Especially one targeted at foreign audiences -- as this film is)

Incompetent? This is sabotage, Rad. It's too well orchestrated to simply be misjudgement. Between this and the pervert parade, it's an attempt to undermine Serb society.

Interesting, since they (government) sponsored this movie, but only for foreign countries, as the movie wasn't still shown in Serbian theaters. I wonder what is behind this?

No. All the Serbian cinemas have been closed down. They were sold off. The terms were never implemented. They're most likely boarded up and destined to as soon as certian contract terms expire become office or retail space. The few theaters that aren't closed down are derelict. And of the few multiplexes -- why would the vast majority of people spend money to go to the cinema instead of just being a pirated dvd in front of the cinema for half the price.
