"Hungar" I believe is a combination of "Hun" and "Magyar"; westerners for a long period of time believed Hungarians were descendants of Atilla's huns. Which isn't too far off the mark. Hungarians call themselves "Magyars", meaning in proto-Ugric "Man/Person" "Arber" however means jack sh*t in albanian. what slav and serb mean to you genius?

Slava/Slavni = Glory/Glorious Serb/Sarva = Heavenly people The name is most likely derived from the Indo-European root *ser- 'to watch over, protect', akin to Latin servare 'to keep, guard, protect, preserve, observe', Old English searu 'weapons, armor, skill', Lithuanian sárgas 'watchman'
