So why not have a working business union, why do you need to have a common base?
Turkey is doing this with the EU, without losing its national sense. In a way I am happy. Most EU nations want to get the hell out!! Nationalism has risen since the EU formed....
It isn't going to work... a business partnership fine.. anything else = Disaster

"A Balkan Union is about to happen when rabbits start hunting wolves. Or when Pazar learns Serbian, i.e, unforseeable future."
Or when Ruseche irons out his revolting propaganda and gives up his full dedication to the facist and racist BuLgarski *ATAKA* nationalist group.
PS he told asen once of his donation to ataka from his small business he runs.

Taking into account the number of conflicts within individual balkan countries, perhaps looking at crime for example, we can see that some Balkan countries are less stable than others. There needs to be a common understanding of the law and respect of cultures for the borders to be opened. Do they really need to be opened though? wouldn't a simple visa be enough? Similar to North and South Cyprus?

Serbs and Albs will not come to an agreement over Kosovo. Visa or No Visa.
All the peoples of the Balkans claim to have some connection to the other. This is the solution.

Smart ass now you have an emotion detector can you tell if i have a hard on.
How do you figure that introducing Greek to whole Balkans will not weaken our ethnic languages, few generation and its gone.
You as a Serb should first start integrating your own Slavic communities into one then maybe the other neighbors will join.
Lay off the pipe and look into reality not long ago you splintered into pieces.

This isn't really going to happen.
What will happen most probably is, some other country, perhaps America, will come in and create a Union for u guys, this will then lead to another Union which is anti american... only then can the Balkans unite in a joint hatred for an outside country.
Hmmm but then again Albanians do Love America....

What's "going" to happen, is purely based on speculation. It's fair enough to assume that the EU, NATO, and the USA would be totally against the idea. I mean comon, there goes half their business, lol.
The main issue at the moment is; No one is talking about the "root" cause. Which is nationalism, an epidemic we all share in the Balkans.
If we can look past what makes us "different" and unite on what makes us simmiliar, the potential for positive change is endless.

Where would Turkey fit in this union? Because you can't have a balkan union without at least thinking about Turkey....actually why not bring back the Ottoman Empire? That was kind of a union too...

Nationalism is on the rise within the EU, these EU countries weren't very nationalist to begin with, after they became a part of a union, they felt more nationalistic. This could have very bad repercussions.
As for Turkey, Turkey will always try to be involved in any union. They will most prolly give their main support to Albania and Bosnia, at least this AKP govt would. They will look at taking whatever they can from the lesser nations that they think the Balkans are.
Turkey is a bigger player though, they want to be a part of both the Arab nations and the EU, whilst they are also a part of the Turanian country nations.... the best u can hope for is Turkey stops this huge power growth with the idiots in charge of it at present.

I don't really follow Turkish politics, so I cannot comment on that. What your stating, is something I need to be reading on. EU has betrayed many nations already within the EU. Look at Ireland, Greece, Spain... just for example. I don't know what the eventual outcome was predicted to be, but the way it is designed was designed to fail anway. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/spain/8366105/Spanish-town-reintroduces-peseta.htmlTake a look at the above article.

hello i'm an albanian from kosova. And my opinion about an union is that it sounds good but i think first we must deal with our problems and then begin to start talking about it.But if it happens one thing i would recommend is the learning of all languages and that all people are equal, one important thing is to teach those habitants of the balkan union about our past and learn them how nationalism had destroyed our life and and resulted only in chaos. And ofcourse a bit of mixing bewteen albs serbs cros macs grecs bulgs....... UZ you got my vote but it's going to be a difficult way but it's worth because i'm tired of this hatred between us balkanians. PEACE FOR ALL

I see some enthusiasm, finally. The problems we have now, is strictly based on "territory", and ethnic-"differences".
Wipe out all the borders completely, we'll have one less "form" of division.

BUT i would like also to see a contract or something that the slavs aren't going to turn on albanians because the slavs are going to be in majority if i'm not mistaking so this is going to be sort of a problem. We are going to need a good and peacfull and a solution that benefits all of us.

How about a law, that forbids any form of ethnic violence or prejudice?
We don't need to break it down to, Albs, Serbs, Macs, Greeks....etc. This law should apply to all Balkanians.

Only I'm more for embracing differences rather than trying to create some kind of new Balkan/Mediterranean ethnicity that Admin constantly makes up and gets so emotional about.
