People in the Balkans, IF anything, pretend to be religious. Some have this idea that its connected to ethnic nationality. A lot of nationlism can be brewed from the church, but they already figured that out. Hence the Albanians destroy some of those churches in Kosova.

^^ No , that's just idiots acting like idiots. I wouldn't say they were idiots, it was more like revenge for what the Serbs had done, the Orthodox church in Kosova represented the Serbs and Serbian nationalist claims and therefore people targeted Orthodox churches. The targeting of churches after the war was understandable and it was nothing but a small repayement for the 83 years of oppression, not only the recent war but also the 1912-1913 massacres of Albanians and more.

It just looks bad on you guys. Only way I can see it justified is if churches were being used as military strongholds and keeping your people as prisoners. Of course the Serbian Orthodox Church is going to support Serb interests , what do you expect? Just like mosques , Albanian Orthodox & Catholic churches , and Albanian institutions are going to support Albanian interests but that doesn't justify destroying civilian structures. You guys don't have to sink to the level of your enemy because when you do you lose the moral case.

It does look bad for us, I agree. However, I understand the people that did it, the Serbian Orthodox Church is a great symbol of the Nationalist claims made on Kosova by the Serbs and it also represents the Serbian atrocities and oppression as the Serbian Orthodox Church always was supportive of the atrocities and oppression, and not only that but also always ignited or helped to ignite it.
Our religious institutions aren't that supportive of Albanian interests seeing as religion isn't that important to Albanians generally, the religious institutions don't really support Albanian national interests that much either unfortunately. The Albanian Orthodox Church has a Greek as its patriarch, a Greek who openly supported Serbian national claims to Kosova even. The Mosque doesn't care for anything as long as everyones praising Allah and one could say that it's in the hand of Arabs rather than Albanians aswell.
Sinking to the level of the enemy (Serbs in this case) takes more than just burning down some churches, so while I do agree that we stooped a bit we didn't stoop to the same level as the enemy in this case. As you say however, one can see the political leverage that the Serbs have gained from the church burnings, being the hypocrits that they are, a large part of their propaganda is directed towards the church burnings and reprisals generally in Kosova even though they probably burned more mosques and churches aswell.
