Brothers - this something we should be very proud of. Their music is eternal. It's like the mountain is singing and you hear the echoes of legends and distant past times.
In the last one you can hear the Old Bulgarian. It's about the battle at Chernomen.

Asen - . This is a great clip and something I already know. Thanks for sharing though! Check clips for the newest expedition of Bulgarian Academy of Science to Tadjikistan . You'll be amazed ;D! The locals say to our Bulgars - welcome back home ;D ;D! Tadjiks have words like - Bulgarian tambura, Bulgarian boots, Bulgarian bow.....Man we really rediscover our great history. The magnificent city of Balkh (ancient Balhkara) was an enormous monument. Sooner or later the truth will appear.

The material is there, all is recorded, and there's plenty of it for those interested. Unfortunately there have been conflicting political regimes, each of which aimed to emphasize some aspects and conceal others. But the truth will resurface once again, it always does. We have nothing to hide, and everything to be proud of. We've had a history of spiritual, religious, and ethnic tolerance. We've done that which was thought to have been impossible, and we've done it on many occasions throughout the centuries. The Bulgarian soldier has proven himself superior in many occasions, not only as a great warrior but as a great strategist and tactician.. even when the odds were against us. The list is long, but a few things off the top of my head.. - The first to ever defeat the Mongols in battle were the Volga Bulgars. - The First Bulgarian Empire. - The Second Bulgarian Empire. - Old Great Bulgaria. - Attilla's main striking forces were Bulgar tribes. - The first and only time that the East Roman Empire officially seceded (and officially recognized) land was to Asparuh's Bulgars. - The Cyrillic alphabet. - The first time an airplane was used as a weapon was by Bulgarians in the First Balkan War. - John Atanasoff - The Bulgarian Jews The only “dark” moment in our history that I can think of right now, is the forced attempt at assimilating the Turkish minority. There are many perspectives and theories about who we are by origin, but our history is true. We ain't hiding. And our deeds are well recorded and there's much to be proud of. Considering that pretty much all of our history was recorded by others, mostly by our enemies, I can only imagine how great it would have been if we recorded it ourselves.. or rather, if there were more Bulgar/Bulgarian records remaining. И разбира се, за разлика от някои други хора, ние Българите не сме мишки.

I was watching the first video with the nice pictures of Bulgaria and I saw a site called Ropotamo(a Greek name) and I search wiki and "surprisingly" I found not few Greek toponyms related to Black Sea:
Ropotamo. Mandra. Karvuna/Kavarna, Kaliakra, Cape Galata, Irakli Aheloy, Kolokita, Agalina, Alepu , Humata, Arkutino, Stomoplo etc
I don't want to say anything with that...I just saw them and posted...

Patrine, no one denies there are plenty of settlements at the Bulgarian Black Sea with many Greeks living there. What is your point, though?

There were Greek settlements on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. I have a couple of Bulgarian friends from Burgas who have grand parents that are partly Greek.

I don't know if there are any Greeks left in the sea side. I've seen a documentary with some old Greeks in Varna. But touristically I don't want to visit Black Sea, since I "fear" that I will get dissapointed. I'd rather visit mountainous Bulgaria. btw, isihia in greek means silence.

Well, you have a point. But in the spirit of this forum, you could go and visit those Greeks. They have quite a nice life, btw. 4-5 months of having tourists in their homes and then spending the money while doing nothing for the rest of the year For the record, those Greeks are not in Varna but around Burgas.

Our old slavonic reminds the lang. of Slovenians. I like it!
That is correct. Bulgars belong to areas of Tadjikistan. Good of course since you are not reffering the rest (slavs, thrax and so on), because they are not from there.

Asene, this is a poor attempt to invent a theory. According to the youtube link above even the rest of slavs are not slavs but smth oriental. Because the most of these examples of words given, are existing in the other slavonic languages. So I can really tell you, this is quite a poor attempt. Besides, there are very few (steppe) Bulgar words in our slavonic.

I explain in English as you and as all others do. I hope that of all of a sudden, this doesn't turn to be a problem? Asene, it does matter who the steppe bulgars were and who we really are. You see, Tadjik ppl say they are brother nation to the Bulgar ppl. I don't think we are brothers with any turkic ppl. We belong to our lands, where we still live - and that is here, in Thrace. I won't forget that and better you don't forget that too. And theories do really matter, but the real facts are what counts. ruse TR Abe RuseBG, ne se li vizdate kakvi prostotii pishete tuk. Ajde begaite si kum stepite, pri brakiata tadjikistanci.

Our lands belong to us! ..not the other way around.
These lands were not given to us, we've fought for them. We've bled for them. We've earned our place in the Balkans.
