Arguing about musical taste as as useless as arguing as far as what is the prettiest color since either one is designed to influence primarily our emotions which in-itself can not be judged by using any logical method (In effect emotions appear to be on the opposite side of the spectrum from anything logical).

Nonsense. Music has depth to it, or lack there of. You can analyze why a song is good why a musician is good by the complexity of the melody and rhythm. By your account, some jakass listening to Rihanna can say that she is as good as The Doors or Jimi Hendrix.
Vissi, like most Balkan popstars, makes simple music for simple tastes. Maybe for people in clubs and bars. It has no real complexity just appealing sounds. You could not put her even close to the likes of classical artists or classical composers...
Just look around for a corolation. Generally more intelligent people like more complex rhythm and intellectual composition of music (outside of monotone notes) whereas less intelligent "common" people like simple beat sounds accompanies by a somewhat appealing voice and studio production background music from people who often lack a common understanding of music notes.

Anyway, since we're posting anything and everything, here's one I like, a Hungarian song.
NOX- Még egy perc
how can you like this song? ugly language for songs, boring sound that we've heard in more than 200 songs...average singer/voice... sorry, you have bad taste.
i like Tenacious D. I've only learned about them some weeks ago when Dio died.
"Orbis terrarum Europa, Europae Graecia, Graeciae regina urbs Byzantii est" "Word's capital is Europe, Europe's is Greece, and Greece's Constantinoupolis" Guarino da Verona,15th c. ......................................... -Ouden glykion patridos-Homer

So it is not a personal experience says Toski.
Ok, lets get logical.
That hungarian song is not that as bad as some of the songs from so called "rock music" which is basically for most part (acoustically speaking) just arrhythmical noise that one can not even dance to. To me personally if rhythm can not be accompanied with dance I do not deem that as music but rather acoustic expression of something else. In addition, if music (which to me is a form of emotional acoustical language) is incapable of invoking at least a mediocre emotional response (which is not drug induced) then it has not fulfilled its capacity. Emotional response from the listener invoked by the way of music, rhythm, words and in the manner in which words are said. Rock is expression of drugged sixties and seventies celtic youth without much logical patterns of the music itself thus I see no depth in vast majority of songs and not to mention boring (either emotionless music or barbaric schizophrenic heavy metal sounds) and or annoying as hell.
Summertime - Janis Joplin. Just listened to it and it was designed to be a deeply emotional song (as far as words go) but the music is dead and the Celtic woman singing it can not pull it off emotionally in the manner she sings it (sounds semi schizophrenic or drug induced if anything as does "7 Seconds -- 99 Red Balloons" , "Van Halen" or "The Dead Kennedys" -- something Skoric might relate to lol) . In other words without any meaningful emotional contact (which from my experience music can either impose relatively fast on any given listener anywhere or not at all) with me and I can be touched by a wide variety of music styles. Maybe you read (my mister book-smart 90percenter).... something about the depth which was written by some celts somewhere.... but... guess what.... they were never known as artistically inclined in anyway (even their ancient art is highly unrealistic). Mediterranean region remains by far most musically gifted in the world (compare just the flowing emotional acoustically and rhythmically perfect Spaniard music to anything else really).
Paulina Rubio - Casanova (Spaniard style)
"The Doors" are accompanied with again unrealistic noise and music is fully arrhythmical while sung in emotionless manner that I fail to see how it can truly move someone unless they are either drug induced , 90percenter or a teenager. Jimi Hendricks again is nothing new except a guy who is yelling while singing (awful noise produced by electrical guitar). There is no question that in comparison Rihanna is far more acoustically pleasant to listen to and that she is followed by more logical dance friendly rhythm patterns and clearer sounds. Complex rhythms are not found in any of the songs presented by so called white non-Balkan musicians here which appear again mostly drug induced arrhythmical noise (not even musical sounds).
EROS RAMAZZOTTI and Tina Turner was nice to listen to as was as was Mack the Knife-Bobby Darin (reminded me of one of the biggest named -- Sinatra) and Boom! Boom! - John Lee Hooker and each song had its own musical style to it.
Rap music posted each displayed far more logical expression of rhythm and its relation to the song and can be danced to.
Balkan music in Serbia and Greece is a combination of middle eastern, Brazilian, Balkan and Spaniard styles (each one in their own right far more musically gifted versus much of Europe) and it is very rhythmical and lively and perfectly compliments more hot tempered locals in Balkans. Music being in my view a form of acoustical emotional language again can not have depth to it cause it is designed to evoke emotion. Opera and Gusle to me are not music (or in the best case scenario are borderline music) but acoustical means of telling a story with that being the only purpose behind it. Also if someone has to have foreknowledge of something in other to 'enjoy' music (cause they are being told that they should and that is the proper way .....God..... that sounds so nordic) then to me it is artificial without any real substance and such person will not truly enjoy it on a spontaneous emotional level but will only appear to do so on a superficial one as to mimic others (like someone who has been either raised there during the time that was popular or someone who is trying to 'fit in' in a new culture).
