I don't listen to slow songs nor Turkish songs much but I've always really liked this one (a Turkish guy I once dated briefly played it for me, lol):

Music for a simple village people with no depth or interest. No complexity, you dont have to think about it...
Dull and repetitive.

Its a political song, Its not meant to be overly complex. It also has a lot of meaning. Even with its simplicity, note that the number of movements.
Sorry, but its a music made by a refined culture, as opposed to a peasant village one. In fact, all of the above songs are signs of refinement and awareness, instead of music that half-literate peasants would find pleasing to their small minds (aka: modern Greek genos)
Its a song made by people and culture that is continuing brilliant literature... not having stopped it 2000 years ago... with some hiccups since then. A people who matter.
Oh and its a song that was sung in its original my Nina Moskouri.

In fact, all of the above songs are signs of refinement and awareness, instead of music that half-literate peasants would find pleasing to their small minds (aka: modern Greek genos) Its an urban music. Rebetika, and its makelarikos/hasapikos dance and rythmos was heard in the City, when the barbarians of your video were living in their ...brave woods...LOL Are you referring to whom? To Germans? Brilliant literature for 2000 years? You're joking right? The quality and the quantity of Greek "production of literature" till the one-two centuries after the enslavement to the Turks is unchallengeable. No other European people can show that cultural energy as the Greek one all the medieval period.

Lol, pathetic. Have you ever been outside of Greece? The world is very different from the one told in your myths and stories granted to you by those "barbarians".
Read again, half literate.
What? The church chronicles interesting to only Byzantinists? I have read into some of them when I first started Greek, simply because they are much easier than the classical ones. Dull and boring Chronicles and saints lives written in simple form, and simplistic folk poems.
But a good question. Why are the top classicists not Greek?

You know nothing about byzantine literature and science. there wasn't any part of science or literature that was not studied and developed during the medieval period, while the western Europe lived in its ...brave knightly darkness. Take a tiny taste here: www.bl.uk/manuscripts/BriefDisplay.aspx do you find the medieval albanian chronicles boring too? i read one once, one of the 7-8th century and it was fascinating... They should praise Latins that kept them in non savage ways... Can you be more specific about these ...hiccups...are you playing the malaka or you are a one? That your anthellenism makes you philogermano and philotourko makes me very pleased...

Im philoturko because I am Albanian. And I feel that Albanians and Turks must be close, we must be kins. I am philogerman because I admire their discipline and enlightenment. Their society is highly advanced, their thinking is too. They are an open society with strong ethics and deep great achievements... by contrast to them...
To think that I would feel philogerman because of my greek hatred... is kind of a joke... same with philo turk... I simply corrected your nonsense attack on real music. If you had shut ur mouth up and allowed people to enjoy the music posted instead of trying to promote you empty supremacy, even though you come from the Gypsy of the EU, I would not have said a thing...

Yea yea. Even when they kill they do so like modern industrialized people. Unlike you Greeks who looked like Somalians in 1821 massacring Jews, Albanians and Turks
