If I were a Greek youth, I would be burning everything in my path as well... and if I was an Albanian youth, I would be looking for explosives and writing up the addresses of Parliamentarians and MPs. Thankfully I am a New York American boy, which means that I will bear my resentment and anger in the typical northern European manner.
That said, I feel for the Greek youth. They are being robbed of their future. The errors and mismanagement of their leadership will be evinced on the Greek people, as is customary to do during such crises (see the book "The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism"). They will have to suffer with a state that the American poor have experienced for decades. That is poverty with no support. The neo-liberals will look to privatize everything, from medicare to education. The Greek youth has a debt filled future to look forward to... all because the bankers need to be payed.
I feel bad not because I feel anything for Greeks in any special way... I feel because I can see Albanians doing the very same thing if not far worse.

You can say the same thing is happening in America... The bankers and you know who they are did and are still doing the same thing. The youth of America by some estimates has a 100 trillion dollar debt to carry... Most states are completely tapped out...

Lol. Its been going on for years in America. Decades now. This whole thing began in America. I suggest you listen to this: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-782159081457451178#America threw its people under the bus after its ascendancy in the aftermath of WWII. It has partaken in some of the harshest and most brutal forms of labor destruction. After the 60s, the conservatives and neoliberals went on the attack and took effective control of the country... and now students get out of school with 100,000 dollars of debt and have to become slaves to some corporation. It wasn't an accident. In the post 68 period, the US government formed a method that could weaken the hold of the "Keynesian' system while at the same time stopping the "liberal indoctrination/subversion" of students by pretty much forcing unbearable tuition, effectively killing the Liberal Arts and forcing students into the cashcows of college: the financing "industry". And here we are today. Europe has been able to avoid such a terrible fate for only so long. Now it looks to come to Europe as well. So I support those Greek protesters. Very good what they are doing! What's going on in Canada anyway? I heard that there are protest there as well. The mail I heard? Also, what is happening with the government.

The postal strike... its happened before. To tell you the truth Canada is doing great .. finally we have a strong(majority) govt in place.. the highways are packed 6 am... people going to work.. I pay high taxes.. but the upside to that.. my kids are finishing school debt free and heath care is still free..
How's it going with you and your studies?

Im done! I am now planning on what I will do next. I have all of my things ready to send in, but I am hesitant as to whether I still want to do Classics or find some other course for myself. Either way, right now I am studying intensely for the GRE, which I will take at the end of the next week. Afterwards Ill probably considering working for a while, maybe as a paralegal or so some work at some magazine or something and consider my options. I may end up taking the LSAT and consider Law School but I have an aversion for that sort of stuff. I have no debt so I am more free than most people. Thankfully my parents were able to survive the past few years without too much damage. Is the Canadian government conservative I heard? Wasn't there some issues with it? I remember watching some video of protesters entering into it and threats of government dissolving? I also heard that this is the first time the majority of Quebec did not vote for the nationalist party. Interesting talk on Greece: www.democracynow.org/2011/6/16/political_crisis_in_greece_amidst_revolt

Thats great! I hope you do something that you like and make some money too... I like the law school thing..
Yes,the govt is 'conservative' but in a Canadian way..which means they are more liberal than the Dems in the US.
The big surprise was that Quebecers like a school of fish all swam to a Federalist party... I freaked out with that.
My son is doing his internship at Ernst&Young this summer..That firm is huge...

I got my stuff on Canada here: www.democracynow.org/2011/5/3/headlines#9I watch DemocracyNow! daily. Probably one of the only worthwhile news source that I can watch regularly. Its base its very Left/Progressive. I dunno, Im looking to do something worthwhile that will give some meaning rather than just follow the green. If I go for Law, it will have to be for doing something worthwhile, which may not necessarily entail a lot of money. Perhaps consider something more along the lines of international relations and law or human rights.... nothing corporate and business...

These two vids are from an attack that took place during Xmas. The victim was a former minister,Hatzidakis...I dont think he's corrupted...
Oh no,it is getting harder guys...more taxes more...i am expecting the crowd to become furious...hunger has begun and im no kidding about that...It's the first time after WII that Greeks experience hunger again...Elders with small pensions are the first victims...unemployment is about to reach 20% in here...One third of the shops is already closed and all the factories are dead...many businessmen have moved their job to Bulgaria and other balkan countries...The electricity company is on strike and July is about to come, this is no good for tourism...It's a tragedy and i am expecting to see dramatic events...Stay tuned guys...In the meanwhile,i hear the albanian language no more...they have either abandoned the city or prefer to speak greek outside...
I dont like violence but as i said, the crowd is furious...I will not participate in any violent event for sure...Leandros is a peaceful guy...

Really?
Someone told me that there is a mass exodus out of the cities. People are moving back to their villages because life is cheaper. Is this true?

My son is doing his internship at Ernst&Young this summer..That firm is huge... Cool. He's going to get paid more as an intern than he will be as a full time associate (well on an hourly rate that is.) Wait till he becomes FT associate and works 70-80 work weeks where the salary per hour looks is comparable to some hick working at Walmart....ah the life of the big 4. So glamarous. Ok sarcasm aside, the experience he will get is great and most people only stay on board a few years but the hours and the stress for the pay is a huge turnoff. 60-80 hour work weeks during busy season is the norm and I don't think these people understand the concept of the term "weekend" since they work on these days. Then again I'm speaking from the perspective of in the US, maybe Canada is different. The best of luck to him.

It's a good thing you don't know much about this firm.... the associates(partners) make anywhere from $350,000 to $500,000 a year... they have already singed him up for next year starting at $70,000 per year...they told him according to his performance he can expect $150,000 after 5 years... There are people there he spoke to that can attest to that. As for the hour ... sometimes you gotta put them in... but they reward them with fully paid vacations a few times a year. Get your facts straight..
