PRIŠTINA -- Kosovo's Priština-based authorities opened embassies in a number of European countries, but are reportedly unable to provide appropriate salaries for the staff.European states are obligated to ensure payment of social welfare to a certain number of employees at the embassies opened by the Kosovo Albanian authorities, since their salaries are lower than the allowed minimum. This is according to the Priština-based Albanian language daily Zeri. These employees are classified as social cases, due to the low salaries they receive from the budget of the Kosovo government. This prompted Germany and Switzerland "to react", according to the report. The newspaper said that governments of those countries also "expressed discontent", since "by hiring staff for their needs, the embassies of Kosovo influence the increase of the number of social cases" in the host countries. www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2011&mm=05&dd=19&nav_id=74422

This is what some are saying, and many people saw this coming. the close to end-result in my opinion will be all of former-Yugo's in the EU, and Albania left, with the symbolic connection with Kosovo.

Lets's face the fact that the "Kosovo" project was a welfare case to begin with, probably inputed to help progress the current economic downfall of the EU. Billions of American and European tax dollars when into this "project", where did all the money go? This is what happens when you bring capitalism to the Balkans.

I think the EU will eventually collapse. Kosovë is just a drop in the bucket. All the countries are of different ethnicities and identities worried about their own interests. It was a stupid idea to begin with.

Kosovo is un-needed baggage for the EU, and EU made Kosovo their responsibility.
The EU can work well with specific W. European nations, but not all. My issue is that they appear to be more about "colonialism" rather than "European-unity".

^Second paragraph was perfectly worded. The balkans would just be the United States' Mexico, cheap labor.

You would think in a democratic-world for a decision like this to be made, a referendum would be organized to hear the voice of the people. The obvious bullshi.t behind all this is sickening, they make us look like grovelers while in the meantime I have yet to speak to a Balkanian in the Balkans that actually supports this move.
