Is that a symbol for the God, the Holy Spirit and the Son? As in the Orthodox icons depicting the saints holding three fingers stretched out? Yet in the icons they hold the little finger, the middle finger and the index finger.

I thought that was the European way of visualising the want for three of a certain object, eg-Three drinks.

Yet in the icons they hold the little finger, the middle finger and the index finger. It dates back a long time. I would assume you're correct, while standing up against the Ottomans, and later... future oppressors.

You didn't really think all those people, including Bush, would use a symbol that expressed resistance against the Ottomans, did you?

nema krsta bez tri prsta - There is no cross without the 3-fingers. I am not saying you're wrong. The way "these" people are displaying the tri-prsta doesn't necessarily have to do with Christianity, it has to do with Serb. The way the Serbs wave this symbol was not to commercialize Christianity but rather to stand against the oppressors. Which is also why during the wars, some Bosniaks/Croats would cut those specific fingers off their victim. Some actually wore it around their necks, like a necklance.
