NOTE some : bulgarisms (e.g Suha vs Suva, Svoboda vs Sloboda, etc...) may VERY WELL be connected with Russians/Ukranians rather than Bulgarians... bear in mind that when those slavs came to Greece, Bulgars were still speaking an non-slavic language.

LMAO!!!! CANT HELP IT!!!!!! LMAO!!!! dude Bulgaria was founded by non-Slav Khans in 681 AD LOL!!!!! Agree that Bulgaria absorbed much of the slavic element of Thrakia, etc..... where current Bulgaria exists.. But to link those old slavs to Bulgars is so amusing !!!! It is like saying that the Saxons of northern Germany are ..... AMERICANS!!! lol just because some *OTHER* saxons (English) *MUCH* later founded a country based on this Saxonic (English) language. This is hilarious ... please ...

I have read strategikon. Nothing about Bulgarians. All he mentions is "SLAVENOI". So i see you bitches like to talk with irrelevant rantings ... Wanna get into a REAL toponym contest PS also it is amusing to see chechens licking Slavic butts (Rex licking Bulgarians), .... if only this chechen had felt the Bulgarian sword... he would not talk like this ... lol..... albs are the most pathetic creatures of earth.

bla bla bla ...
| Slavic toponyms of Epirus !! |
But how were all these Slavic name? Historically we know that the Slavic invasions in Greece started in 5th-6th AD century and toponyms in Epirus were estimated in the 7th century. According to the linguist Max Vasmer Epirus recorded 412 Slavic names, which sometimes were simply translations of older Greek names.

Max Vasmer's book came in 1940s+, and contains not even 20% of the total slavic placenames of Greece. Much earlier in 1926-1928 and in other waves as well, there have been MASSIVE greekifications of the toponyms to make them sound non-slavic. Proof? There you have it : pandektis.ekt.gr/pandektis/handle/10442/4968for every "Profitis Ilias" or "Agia Marina" most probably there used to be a Slavic/Serbian tponym there before 1920. In fact, i do not know of more than 2-3 villages in Epiros which had no Slavic/Serbian previous placename.
