Greeks Steel a Portion of Via Egnatia
Via Egnatia was a road that connected the east side(Byzantine) of the Roman Empire with the west side (City of Rome)
As it is shown in the map below the road comes down from Rome into Brindizi. From there goes through Otranto channel into Durres(Dyrrachium). It goes up east until Thessaloniki and from there it reaches Byzantine (Stambollin)

Greek developers and state government members have named as Via Egnatia (Egnatia Odos/Udhen Egnatia)their new highway that connects the west of Greece with the east.
This new highway does not passe through the old Egnatia road, but despite of that it does maintain its name.(In the meantime they create problems to many Slavic-Macedonians)
