Welcome bro. Unfortunately I don't think anyone here can help you with that. Your best bet would be to ask your father or grandfather if you havn't already. Ask them what the name of your family's earliest ancestor was. For example if Halil's father or grandfather was Mark then he would be Halil Marku.. and your last name could be changed to Marku or Markaj. If they cant remember far back enough to your Catholic ancestor then you can possibly take up your clan name as your surname.. Ex. Berisha, Gashi, Hoti.. etc. If you don't know your clan name (which you should!), your father or grandfather will know for sure.
Good luck in discovering your roots.

Hi, thank you brother, your answer was pretty helpful. I asked my uncle about my Catholic Ancestors and he told me one of them was Preka(although he was not sure about his religion, but Preka to me sounds Catholic), though he didn't tell me Preka's surname he told me that Preka was from Albania so our roots are from Albania, and Prekazi the birthplace of our legendary hero Adem Jashari was named after Preka because when he came here in Kosovo he liked this place(which at that time had no name) and when he died people named that place after him. Now I want to ask you I like Preka (or Prekaj) as a last name very much so I can change it to that but can you tell me is it a Catholic name or it doesn't belong to any religion. THANK YOU ! P.S: My uncle told me that I should ask the oldest man of my village who at the same time is his uncle and he knows our family roots from the begining of our history ! Should I change my last name to Preka (or Prekaj) or should I wait and ask him about this so I will have more Catholic names to choose. Also, I'm 15 years old so I can't really change my name by myself only if my father or someone in my family does it for me. You're welcome, bro. Yes Preka is a first name confined to Catholics although it doesn't itself stem from Christianity. As far as I know it is an archaic Albanian name like 'Dedë'. Muslims abandoned the name not because it is Catholic but because it was non-Muslim. Just like how Bosnian Muslims abandoned non-Christian Slavic names like 'Trvtko' and other names that Croats and Serbs still have when they converted to Islam. I would advise you to hold out changing your last name for a few years until your able to legally do it yourself as you would have more time to learn more and to think about your decision. Its good to see a young Albo like you taking an interest in your roots. Keep it up!
