A senior Ukip politician has said Kosovo should not be allowed to join the European Union because Britain "already has enough" criminals. Gerard Batten, a Ukip MEP, said people from the "lawless" country should not get an open door to come to Britain. "We already have plenty of criminals from Kosovo in London, despite the fact it's not yet a member of the EU," he said. "EU entry would enable yet more to come. We already have enough, thank you very much." Mr Batten later told The Daily Telegraph: "UKIP opposes the entry of all new states to the EU because it gives their citizens automatic entry to Britiain. " Kosovo is a particularly bad example because it is a poor, lawless state with rampant criminality. We don't want to give an open door invite to more criminals from Kosovo, we have enough already. Just look at the crime statistics for Romanians in London for example." Mr Batten's comments come after Diane James, a Ukip candidate in the Eastleigh by-election, apologised for linking Romanians with crime. Mrs James made the remarks earlier this year while attending a rally in the Hampshire constituency with Nigel Farage, the Ukip leader. "We are not just talking about pressure on services from immigration but also, and I have to say it, the crime associated with Romanians," she said at the time, calling for a moratorium on immigration. "One of the problems with the Olympics last year was the Metropolitan Police having to deal with Romanian criminal gangs pick-pocketing." Mrs James later apologised, saying she had not meant her comments to be a “generalisation against every single individual born with a Romanian passport”. Ukip has stoked fears over the threat of immigration from Bulgaria and Romania when controls on free movement from the newest EU countries end next year. In the last few months, the party's MEPs have also been stepping up their campaign against Kosovo joining the European Union. One MEP, William Dartmouth, formally called for a European Union debate on the issue to be delayed until the year 3,000. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/10006116/Weve-got-enough-criminals-so-keep-Kosovo-out-of-Europe-says-Ukip-MEP.htmlI have done extensive travels through Europe in particular the West and this is exactly what the citizens say all the time; Romanians and albanians are the criminals their country.

There are countries where Yugoslavs were looked upon with more contempt by the natives than Romanians. The UK is full, they are simply tired of immigrants; and since they can't take it on Asians and Africans, because that would be deemed racist and thus unacceptable, they complain about Romanians, Bulgarians, Albanians, and so on. That's how it works. Just like Australia, a country of people who are nice on the outside, but who are very foolish on the inside--just like the migrants who live there. A bunch of retards, all of them.

Agreed but from the EU point of view statistics speak volumes, Romania is already in the EU they're just using Romania as a scapegoat for the exact reason as you say. instead of criticizing non-Europeans for crimes it's most "polite" to attack Europeans. Everyone knows if Kosovo gets in the EU they'll be a wave of albs leaving into Western Europe, especially because the situation in Kosovo wouldn't even get better anyway and really who would blame them there's a lot more opportunity outside. For the EU to function properly, they have to take in countries that are already standing on their two feet alone functioning. This philosophy to just grow grow grow is not going solve anything, the foundation is completely rotting out yet we're still building.

Yes, candidate countries need to have a working economy before joining the EU. Both Ro and Bu have working economies, but many still claim we joined too early. The issue about Kosovo joining the EU requires they have a working economy, among other things, so they wouldn't be able to join for quite a long time. The EU has as its longterm strategy to take in all Balkan countries, that objective could take decades to reach. That statement made by the British politician is quite stupid, but such statements are very popular among the people due to the economical crisis we're in. I sort of agree that the EU is not built on solid ground.

I sort of agree that the EU is not built on solid ground. The statement made by the politicians is stupid however there is grounds for what he is saying he's just pointing the finger the wrong direction. By "blaming" Romanians for crime he is not helping the societal situation in Britiain, as you say many people look for blame and if the path for blame leads towards Romanians then that's where its' going to go. I personally think bigger problems are the middle-easterns and Africans who don't really comprehend Europeanism, or the idea of a NATION or STATE, afterall it just comes down to being "polite" and blaming fellow Europeans. If Europeans took care of Europeans first then the EU wouldn't be in the crisis they are in. The foundation of this wonderful idea is deteriorating under the guise of freedom, liberlism and democracy - when in reality the people don't like it this way, or just unhappy with what is happening. Let's look at Germany for a moment; Stay at home mothers' now get grants from the government for being at home with the kids = the more kids they have to take care of the more money they get from the Government. Now think about this for a moment, sure it sounds nice at first but remember European women in specific have become independant in their own Right, the majority of Germany's Native women WORK- because of the promotion of feminism throughout the years. And the ones who do have kids only have about 1 to 3. The ones ranking in on this deal are clearely the immigrants who come from nations in which oppress women (no-work-no-freedom), they come to Germany with their 8 children sign up for citizenship (and because of Law, they'll get priority over say someone from Serbia) then sign up for these benefits. Now about working mothers? Do they get grants for sending their kids to daycare or having a nanny? NO !And where's the money coming from to grant these stay-at-home mothers with money? GERMAN tax payers. What do you think of all this? I can give you some ressources if you want to read more about this.
