Google Translate from Greek Events in Meglen are cancelled because of the participation of orchestras singing in local idiom Second case within a week that a cultural event in Meglen/Almopia is canceled because at the folk feast it was planned to take part an orchestra singing in the local idiom. For the Associations there is no official announcement, but according to information they have been strongly pressured to cancel events with this particular orchestra. Clubs seem to have preferred to cancel the events (instead of changing the orchestra) aridaia-gegonota.blogspot.com/2018/07/blog-post_34.html?spref=fb

I don't identify with much of the Balkan original, folk music (Slav or not). More like this:

They must fight for their culture. Who can stop them if they really want it bad? Regardless, I was saying that of most Balkan music is not to my liking, due to the mention of some folk (I assume) orchestra.

You talk like this because you live in a country where Slavic is not a forbidden culture. But in English-Saxon-NAZI Greece, being Slav is synonymous to have a highly contagious disease. Those people have suffered so much. NAZI vlahs killed them for speaking SLAVIC (Serbian). In the same manner that afgan-NAZIs in Kosovo kill SLAVS for speaking SLAVIC.

See what happens when you (well Slavs of Greece in this case, as a community) are not eugenicists and xenophobes? Nevertheless one can only win or perish in such fight... And me, at their place, I wouldn't want to live if I don't win in such a struggle.

I tend to agree with ulf here. It's no good us defending Slavs in Greece when they don't speak up for themselves. Perhaps some public demonstrations is a good start. I know they've been oppressed and undergone unspeakable horrors at the hands of the Greeks, but ethnic Macedonians need to raise their voice in Greece and all of us will support them. The Rainbow-EFA party has gotten no where and another more vocal and active party needs to come on the scene.

just like Serbs in Pristina getting vocal?? come on.
And its not GREEKS who do the job my dear shamless "serbite na vribite".
IT IS SAXONS. THEIR GUIDANCE AND ORDERS.
The same ones who want to establish your Mak name and make deals and get you in NATO.
You ain't seen nothing yet, my dear "srbite na vrbite".
Saxon plans are 101% anti-Slavic. Not a matter of "if" but matter of "when".

Zorba was Serb.
Hasapo-serviko (the supposed neo-greek dance) was "invented" in Novi Sad, based on the dances of south Serbia.
There is no "balkan music" in general.
There is : SLAV music. There is : ANCIENT GREEK music.
Those two are CLOSE.
But there is "greece" separating them.

Evidence please..... Novi Sad was mostly under hapsburg rule.... the Serbs in Vojvodina had little contact with Serbs of the ottoman empire.

Serbs had more rights and were able to worship freely etc, Serbs migrated to the Hapsburg monarchy for this purpose.
