I don't know that much. It could be due to Ottomans, Austro-Hungarians, Italians, UK or Russians for all I know. I didn't investigate that.

If it serves some global powers interests you bet they'll do it. They'd be foolish if they don't. You lived in America you should know better.
How far can you trace your genealogy? Let me make a bold assumption: not behind 18-19th century?

I can do 6 forefathers by name ...and know where 4 of them are buried ... before that religious change threw things off balance sort of to say

avaro-bulgarians ... hmm I wonder what happened and all those Asians wanted SO BADLY to become SERBS/SLAVS overnight !! hahahahahah they didn't become ....they were later simply named by others ...Roman leaders/priest ,monarchs
Aha, so those Asians were named Slavs by others and started talking Slavic.... makes sense (in your looney world)

you have to read between the lines when you dealing with zeta /zetan .....Albs vs Albs
or especially in Montengran areas heavily slavinized Albanians .....

"slavinized" isn't a word.... zeta was a serb state lol.... unless "Crnojevic" or "Balsic" are albanian surnames.

back on topic before Leo gets here and rightfully deletes all this crapola ...
bottom line :
"Little is known about the slavs before they are mentioned in Byzantine records of the 6th century"
so everything else pre 6th century is fairytales by pyrros and his accomplice Novi and of course
little follower Brani that just eggs them on
