Germans still call Lusatian Serbs by name Sorbs. Apparently the Germans used the wrong term "Sorb" because they wanted to disconnect them from south Serbs and the fact that Luzicki Serbi call themselves "SERBI".
This is just one reason why I find historical texts hard to consider serious. They were strictly political. People should connect themselves to national groups only in accordance to their own customs, traditions and genetics.

And knowing that the truth/texts have been altered, the researcher is left alone to mine the tiny piece of gold from inside a snake pit. This is because humans are : 1) unable to professional cook reality in a 100% consistent manner 2) unable to stop promoting their agenda (aka : STFU)
So, eventually there is a little truth in every ocean of lies that is served. This + hidden sources in monasteries + studies from "exotic" countries (Persian, China, etc) might help build the big picture.

I have more simplistic view on it: If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, looks like a duck, the chances are its a duck.

might be a SAXAN pretending to be a duck. the greatest SAXAN victories were achieved based in extreme deception techniques against the (Slavic) opponents who functioned on more "natural" terms .
