Arvanitis from thebes Luke Bellos was the main organizer of the sacred body of the holy company created by arvanites of the thebes and the wider region, where he participated as captain (Boeotarch) in the 1878. Thessalikḗ Revolution. He was a great scientist, a doctor and a member of the Greek Parliament. A writer and columnist of many newspapers expressed his albanian origin at the same time as his greek conscience. Character Impetuous as a genuine child of Albania participated from his young age as a volunteer in the cretan revolution of 1866. Luke Bellos remained faithful to his ideas and never stopped supporting the idea of creating a Greek-Albanian State.

Bocic Cergin
All Slavic.
Cergin's village was named Lipovic.
One of his ancestors was named Vladimir.
All Slavic.
And most were from Morejas (now south Greece). Far from South Crna Gora. (which now is called Albania by the west).

Greece was Albanian, even today half are Albanians, says historian Maria Efthimiou
An interesting moment is the opening of Greek schools for Arvanitas children on the island of Speca, where one of the teachers writes that "while I was teaching Greek, my children were teaching me in Albanian" ...
Maria Efthimiou, a professor of history at the University of Athens, honored by the Greek presidency, but also engaged in teaching in multiple environments, gives a lecture on Arvanitas in Greece.
Without the usual terminological differences, Albanian, Albanian, Arvanitas, Efthimiou speaks of their role, the language and the fact that Albanian at that time in Greece was the country language in some regions.
An interesting moment is the opening of Greek schools for Arvanite children on Spece Island, where one of the teachers writes that "while I was teaching Greek, my children were teaching me in Albanian."
"I learned Albanian in order to teach Greek,"

Greece was fully Slavic. All great things came from them.

that 1923 population exchange was a catastrophe for all people ..especially your beloved Crete ,it took the
oldest purest greek speaker(but Muslim) and transplanted them in turkeywhile brinmging in Christian turks
from asia minor/black sea ..
....oh the irony of it all
we would of been better off with albs ,vlachs and a few slavs

Here pyrros ..a bonus for you .....so you can put in your files
Hassan Tahsin Pasha ....born in Mesare.....attended and graduated from the Greek Zosimaia School at Ioannina, Spawn of Albanian military family, deep connoisseur of greek language and history, highly philhellene, as commander of the city of thessaloniki delivered the city to the Greek Army by denying the offers and threats of serbs and bulgarians. Personal friend of eleftheriou venizelos from his years of term as an officer of the ottoman army in Crete, make sure he comes to consultation secrets so that Thessaloniki is delivered to Greeks and not to the slavs.. He died in Lausanne in 1918 and was buried there. In 1937, his remains were transferred to the Albanian cemetery of Thessaloniki, and in 2006 to the Military Cemetery of the Balkan Wars at Gefyra.
hmmmm.....I would call him a traitor ,a traitor to his own people
and he was buried 3 times .....penalty shot

I was there more than a couple times over different period. Since 1995 until lets say 2015 (last time I went to Greece). It gradually looks worse every time I visited. Its expending while other smaller cities in the area are shrinking. But I know Thessaly is not only place in the Balkans where this happens. Sadly this is wider phenomena.

Still, "too little freedom" is as bad. The problem is when country doesn't invest in smaller communities. In modern age every normal country should provide healthy environment for growth and development, regardless where you live. What the future generations will do with this possibility and their country is on them. In the Balkans all previous governments of every country, in last 50 years or so, failed to accomplish such a simple task.

its sad when a villager goes to the city to buy peppers & tomatoes and even bread . let alone not even a chicken or cow in that village ...they have disappeared
bad longer term ruin
Forever it was the village that fed the city
times have changed drastically
