Lets compare Tsakonian (remnant of Doric Greek) with language in Montenegro (and generally Serbian language)
Mater ----------- Mater (Montenegro) --------- Mother
Mati................. Mati (Montenegro)............... Mother
Souka...............Smokva...............................Figs
Souko tsai souka
tsai pronounced as CHE (as in serbian language sound)
Ovane (Sheep) .........Ovan (male sheep)..............."Ovane" in serbian language would be addressing a male sheep or a moron also very archaic

Pretty natural, since the old genuine Greeks were originally a subdivision of the Slavs. I guess the true Greek was much closer to Slavic, but what we learn today is a parody of a language called Greek.
Attention :
Cypriots (as well as Portuguese) have ALL the Slavic sounds.

Another similarity between Tsakonian (true Greek) and Slavic is the dative of I (to me) : Slavic : mi Tsakonian : mi

Another note.
Not only Slavic was killed in what we call modern Greece, but also anything TRUE GREEK, like Tsakonian.

Koini elliniki (and not koine) was a fabricated, not a natural language.

What I find interesting is that I derived these words from 4-5 words they mentioned in the video.
I wish I could come across a bigger number of Tsakonian words for comparison purposes.

Yeah, that's what I hope to see too, so we can check how close to Balto-Slavic side of the Indo-European tree it is, because Celto-Germanic is not so close.

IMHO ancient Latin is closer to Slavic. Then on the bottom right you get Greek and on the bottom left Germanic. However Greek and Germanic are still close.
No wander there are modern official voices that claim that the IE theory is a hoax, because they dont want EURO people united.

I consider language archeology a sort of an art. I don't think all of their hypotheses are true, far from it, but combined they reasonable picture of the evolution of the languages.

I believe the verbs and the declensions between Slavic and Latin were identical.

I can't talk about similarity of Latin and Slavic. I knew just Spanish at a mid level, but since I don't use it it slowly fades away.

all modern imperial languages have lost declensions (italian, spanish, bulgarian, english).
