Land Reforms: The introduction of sweeping land reforms in Namibia threatens the
livelihoods of hundreds of white farmers.
Emmanuel Ismael's home is a small farm in the heart of Duerreland, Namibia. Yet he
fears that all might soon be lost in the face of President Sam Nujoma's land reclamation
programme. With black farmers desperate for land, the Namibian government has
adopted a strategy designed to win them votes - evicting white farmers. 192 foreigners
have already lost their farms. But European farmers are worried that only the politicians
will profit from the changes. "They are not battling against poverty but are simply
changing the colour of the skin of the owners." In fact, the first victims of the land
expropriation will be the black workers. Farmers believe that foreign investment is the
real key to agricultural development.

This is crazy; just have a look at the poverty of these black folks. It’s a pity and a great
disappointment that the common man can’t benefit from what is naturally theirs. This is
what makes the white folk take advantage. Moreover whites are very much aware that
they would never ever completely own land in Europe! I live in England and I know what
I am talking about. It’s not true that any white would “fall in love” with an African country.
You fall in love with the land and take advantage of the poverty of the indigenous and the
stupid politicians. I don’t even want to know how much you give them poor workers!!
