Poles were previously attacked few times by both Russia and Germany simultaneously through their history. Of course, they'd be anti-Russian and anti-German. Now for the difficult part: As for Serbs... I saw even on business social networks (like LinkedIn) reactions of Serbs to Russian invasion on Ukraine and majority of reactions are that of very stupid justification of violence. I kept my mouth shut because what can you really say to such people (people that live for violence, or simply led by bad emotions)? They are what is called "useful idiots" because all they say seems like a copy-paste of what our political leadership is talking, but with a different flavors. It was eye opener for me because I really see that many people actually support the current government (either by direct voting or by not going to elections at all), and even some well educated people for whom I'd never imagine they would have such opinions, and actually who do mentally tough jobs. It means I made very wrong conclusion thinking that their profession would push them to think in that way in other spheres of their lives, as I thought its normal for those that have to use logic and make unbiased conclusions in their line of work to project that elsewhere. So, I, in a way agree with you. It is normal conclusion this kind of thinking might lead Serbs to possible conflict in Serbian own zone of interest (but I truly hope it will not). And also, those smart people that oversimply and observe this (or any other) conflict strictly from political perspective hold no right to ask for help, compassion (etc) or to complain tomorrow if it happens to their people (it already happened to them before, they learned nothing, you don't get the second chance here). And that's the reality. What's happening to Ukraine is the same as to what happened to us during Kosovo conflict (only with different sides, Russia took role of NATO, and NATO took role of China/Russia as those who condemn violence), or even worse, because there is full scale ground invasion there and we didn't had that. That's only comparison that I can make if I look truly from neutral side. |

Also all minorities are hunted down, indians, native americans, chinese, etc.
This goes on for 8 years. And after the french madmen have killed 15000 English speakers, and a doc leaked that reveals lethal attacks scheduled against Anglophones, USA decides to intervene.

You just justify your attack because in your example some medias wrote sad, scary stories that might as well be propaganda, and back it by alleged leaked document, but you disregard that it might be manufactured by intelligence agency of ally's of the troublesome ethnic minority. I am not interested in that because all of these evidences can be produced, and you as citizen of a side that should be neutral can't know which one is true and which one is false. So you are led by taking conclusion of relationship between your country (third, neutral country in this example - or specifically in your example the country you favor) and each of the two sides involved in conflict. If you like them both, you also add into equation relationship between that oppressing country with other global powers, and its opponent and other global powers. So you choose side by siding with the friendliest side. That's what politicians do. Supporting this kind of logic is political thinking, not reflection of reality. That's what going on in Serbia, and majority of population thinks that way. Its not natural. PS. I spend zero hours on Western websites, unless you count LinkedIn which I occasionally visit. However almost all of my connections there are Serbs. |

To be completely honest, for the last two years I've been completely uninterested in political events. I really don't care if they will nuke each other, so long as nuclear fallout doesn't reach me. I'm preparing myself to live outside of civilization (even outside of villages), cut my dependence on people as much as possible because people and their stupid opinions started to really frustrate me, together with city life and ever bigger stupidity of each new generation. It is normal thing to have compassion for those that are severely damaged and to help those in need of help. Many of the comments among Serbs that I saw were anti-Ukrainian. Quite humiliating given that many of them were at their place 20-30 years ago. |

Since I met some Ukrainians few years ago and when I heard their opinions on situation and politics there the first thought that came to my mind was "my God, these are dumbasses like early 90's Slobo voters, they'll end just like Bosnian Serbs, Croatian Serbs, and Kosovo Serbs". That was back in 2017 and 2018. Turns out few years later I was right. |

People get notifications from their government officials a mere day or few hours before shit happens thus no time for prepping at all (we're talking about everything from issuing common laws to declaration of war), weak citizenry that are players of the regime and whistleblowing which is a thing in modern world that separate a free country from country controlled by (a devious foreign or local) entity is basically seen as treason. I am not even talking here about South Slavs now, East and West Slavs are by far more random than us (excluding perhaps Czech Republic).
