Greeks continue efforts to isolate Turkish CypriotsThe New Anatolian / Ankara 13 December 2007 Hasan Ercakica, spokesman for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Presidency, said Wednesday that the Greek Cypriot party tried to use its EU membership as a tool to hamper the removal of isolations on TRNC on all occasions. "The latest application by the Greek Cypriot party aiming to hamper the ferry service between Gazimagusa port of TRNC and Latakia port of Syria is a concrete indicator of these efforts," Ercakica said in a written statement. Ercakica commented on Greek Cypriot FM Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis' recent application to EU regarding the ferry service between Gazimagusa and Latakia. "Those who are sharing the same island with us hope for help from EU without making any contact with us. This shows that their intention is entirely political and they are interested in the continuation of isolations on TRNC rather than preventing human trafficking," Ercakica said. Ercakica said Marcoullis claimed in the application that ferry trips between Gazimagusa and Latakia were used as a channel for human trafficking. He said qualifications needed to benefit from the sea ports and airports of TRNC were determined by law and preventing entry of the people possessing such qualifications to TRNC was out of the question. Ercakica also said all Turkish Cypriot institutions and particularly security forces took all the necessary precautions and made inspections regarding human trafficking and illegal migration. He said Greek Cypriots did not want to cooperate with TRNC concerning the prevention of illegal migration and also other criminal activities. www.thenewanatolian.com/tna-30078.html

Ahh well, s**t happens right ? consequences for every action.
But anyway, Turkish Cypriots are happy with their current status and are "laughing all the way to the bank", so what do they care anyway right ?
