Hmmm... I've been writing a script for a movie based in Vukovar in the 90s.
I'm slightly disappointed that a movie is already being made... not to say that mine would have gone into production.

Wow Vukovar the movie I wonder how they will potray this, illyria.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=srbijaserbia&action=display&thread=7556Hmm maybe the censors will cut these parts of the film as too gruesome ? What do you all think ? Does anyone know who will play Dr Bosanac ? Dr. Vesna Bosanac was traded in a prisoner exchange after the fall of Vukovar. Dr. Bosanac was accused of the murder of numerous Serbian patients under her care, whose blood was deliberately drained and given to wounded HV Croatian soldiers. Upon their death, the vital organs of these Serbian patients were removed and sold on the black market in Germany. Eyewitnesses have come forward to testify to these facts.
Ironically, not only has Dr. Bosanac not been charged with war crimes, she is one of the tribunal’s chief witnesses! Or I wonder who will play these people..maybe they will use extras what do you guys think ? As Croatian forces withdrew from Vukovar on 15 and 16 November 1991, they dragged Serbian civilians from the cellars where they were hiding, and massacred them. These Serbs were axed to death in a courtyard, after being dragged from the cellar at 74 Nikola Demonja Street in Borovo-naselje, near Vukovar [Names, courtesy of the 4international blog: Radosav Pavic and Velimir Trajkovic (both wearing red); Zorica Pavlovic, her brother Zoran, mother Nada and Milojka Pavlovic.]

^ I like wherever I go to read that information there is a srpska-mreza link. Even found one of these awesome images: I can't lie, it's pretty creative. I just can't seem to find viable information to support the argument. Sorry, seems to be another pro-Serb invention. BTW This is how the movie is going to recreate the event: "Each of these three journeys will captivate the audience in a different way, but I've always thought that the hospital is the heart of this movie. Dr. Bosanac tried so hard to keep the people within those walls safe&she kept hope alive for everyone - for eighty-seven long, hard, and unimaginable days&only to be stripped of her power at the last minute. She was taken away from those she fought so dearly to protect. What resulted was what most people have come to know as the, 'OVCARA'. Over 200 innocent people were murdered and it's time to show the world this story." www.croatia.org/crown/articles/9301/1/Jaz-Spelic-Actor-Producer-based-in-Sydney-The-Trinity-of-Vukovar.html

Interesting Read: www.jblaskovich.com/PDF/AnatomyofDeceitCH6.pdf"Upon my return to Zagreb, the Foreign Press Bureau asked if I'd chair and moderate a press conference at the Hotel Intercontinental that would center around the atrocities being committed. The FPB also asked me to introduce a number of Croatian civilians from Vukovar who were recently freed in a prisoner of war exchange. The prisoners included Doctors Vesna Bosanac (who was known as the angel of the killing fields of Slavonia) and Mladen Loncar. Although the press conference was well attended by members of the international media, the moving testimony of the former prisoners or discussion about the atrocities apparently didn’t move many, since very little was reported. That evening I took most of the former prisoners out for their first real meal in months. Dr. Mladen Loncar, the other physician released with Dr. Bosanac, had been arrested four times on unspecified charges despite the fact that he was a Serbian citizen. Apparently his only crime had been his Croatian ethnicity. Dr. Loncar was working at the Novi Sad hospital in the Serbian province of Vojvodina when he was arrested by Serbian police for carrying a package of medicine intended for his parents in Ilok, Croatia. They beat him severely during his 30 hours of captivity. Once free, he was arrested several times thereafter before ending up in Begejci camp near Zrenjanin, Vojvodina. Out of the rubble of Vukovar a true heroine of the conflict emerged: Dr. Vesna Bosanac. Ever armed with a lighted cigarette, resembling a librarian more than a dynamo, she realized the full gravity of the Serbian onslaught from its onset. Lacking military experience, she instinctively prepared and energetically mobilized the medical staff of Vukovar's hospital into a wartime footing. Anticipating the casualties sure to come, she had the basement cleared up, placed sand bags at the windows, and opened the never used atomic bomb shelter. Her foresight saved countless lives, for these sites later provided the only protection for the patients and medical staff. Because she led with an iron will and discipline but never raised her voice, the medical staff spontaneously followed the example of this diminutive, 4 foot 9 inches tall, heroine."

The definitive Vukovar movie will not be made by a Serb or a Croat... and definetly not an Australian.
