Islam doesn't approve? (any facts to back it up Janny?) Muslim Woman and Non-Muslim Man
Under no conditions is a Muslim woman permitted to marry anyone but a Muslim man. The same verse cited above (2:221) mentions, "Nor marry your girls to unbelievers until they believe. A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever...." No exception is given for women to marry Jews and Christians, so the law stands that she may only marry a believing (Muslim) man. As head of the household, the husband provides leadership for the family. A Muslim woman does not follow the leadership of someone who does not share her faith and values.islam.about.com/blinterfaith.htmThis is how majority of Turkish Muslims interpret the verses. Of course, one may have different interpretations, but that is not common I reckon, at least not so common in Turkey. If you say that one could find an Iman who could conduct a marriage between a Muslim woman and a non-Muslim man, then I am mistaken.

here is another translation 2:221 Wed not idolatresses till they believe; for lo! a believing bondwoman is better than an idolatress though she please you; and give not your daughters in marriage to idolaters till they believe, for lo! a believing slave is better than an idolater though he please you. These invite unto the Fire, and Allah inviteth unto the Garden, and unto forgiveness by His grace, and expoundeth His revelations to mankind that haply they may remember

Don't speak as if u are a imam marriage specialist Jan. I doubt even 50% of Turks have a imam marriage. The only ones that we hear of are the ones for 'mistresses' I haven't ever met anybody who has had an Imam marriage.

Like ı said earlier u are just stating ur opinion about subjects u aren't educated about. Like the comment u made earlier. Bet u learned something new today about Islam Thats th sad thing most people just go by hearsay. A very wise religious guy said: 'They will try to fool u with Islam' those uneducated farmers who don't even know how to understand what they read, tell people wrong things about religion. Sadly people similar to yourself believe them.

Bet u learned something new today about Islam Thats th sad thing most people just go by hearsay. I did not learn anything different than I already have known since I am familiar with the customs existing in Turkey. Islam does not approve Muslim women to marry non-Muslim man as stated in the article I posted, however, I agree that people might have different interpretation of certain verses in Quran.

Basil I was born n bred in London true but I still grew up with some hardcore Turkish customs - if I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to survive in Turkey, for almost 2 years now.

A lot of people point out that religious wars have claimed the lives of millions of people but I bet nationalism has killed more people than religion ever has.

"Things are to complex to of just happened, they need a creator". Is an assertion.
"God always was" Is an assertion and a contradiction to the original statement.
Something to create advanced life must be even more advanced, thus require a creator herself/himself if the original premise is true. Enter into infinite regress.
Occam's razor states one must shave off unnecessary assumptions such as; god always was & things are too complex to of just occurred.

Arguing with a religious person is useless, you cant apply reason to faith...
