Firefight as intruders target Kosovo PM's home 06-07-2008, 11h46 PRISTINA (AFP)
Intruders and security guards were caught in an exchange of fire at the home of Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, seen here at the UN in New York last month, leaving one of the intruders wounded, police have said. (AFP/Getty Images/File) Intruders and security guards exchanged gunfire overnight at the home of Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, leaving one of the intruders wounded, police said on Saturday.
Security guards at the residence -- in the Arberia district, where many diplomatic missions are located -- spotted the intruders on a second-floor balcony "who were trying to get in" to the building, a police statement said.
"After a warning by the security guards, there was an exchange of fire and the attackers left the scene," it said.
"According to preliminary investigation of the scene, it is suspected that one of the attackers was wounded."
Thaci -- a former ethnic Albanian guerrilla leader whose government declared Kosovo's independence from Serbia in February -- was not at home, but other members of his family who were, were not harmed.
The police statement gave no word about a motive for the attack, as Kosovo television carried images of the balcony on which apparent blood stains could be seen.

^ or maybe someone threated his life?
I wonder how strongly the residence of Thaci is protected. Who knows mate, it could be a blood feud starting to catch up on him. Besides what l have said, its a clear indiction that the people are beginning to realise something is not right.

I doubt they have an honourable bone in their body.

Yes yes, as opposed to the death threats sent out to the government in Belgrade. Dont worry, Albs are not yet at the point of actual successful assassination... we are not yet at the level of Serbs.

Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuqi said Thaci had been away on a private visit at the time of the attack. He said authorities have increased security measures for government officials. Actually, Thaci has been at meetings for a few days in Chantilly, VA.

Agree. Kosova needs an Enver Hoxha, to show the world what we are. We will not back down to Serbian religious terrorism. We will kill you all, one by one. Religous terrorism? Its Albanians who are destroying Serb churches.

It makes me laugh, they can't target the Serbs, so all that is left is themselves. Anarchy is around the corner. This is what the EU have been afraid of all along. Its good that the Russians are preventing the EU in as to expose the Pristina government for what they are. A bunch of frauds, imposters and criminals.

Its Albanians who are destroying Serb churches. Well in war you go for your enemy's base. Serbian orthodox church is what made you slavs propagandadamaged. To bad we didnt get the source, the priests, they should have their heads on top of the cross at the top of the building. For disgracing the Christian church.

[ No, you haven't reached the level of humanity yet. Albanians have a history of celebrating life and milestones in people's lives. Sunshine fills their lives. Serbs should think twice about their culture of death and celebrating all things of a dark or death nature. I don't know how Serbs can see ahead of them in all that darkness.

There were better days for religion. When priests and imams rotted away together in prison. Btw, Albs dont have Ayatollahs...
